Avengers Initaitive #13 - Rated 8 - I actually liked this issue. It was nice and simple and nothing OMG the world is changed forever blah blah. New recruits show up fun stuff happens.
Captain America #38 - Rated 7 - Ikeep wonding why I pick this up. It's slloooww. Bucky and Falcon fight Zola and we learn the Steve fromlast issue is a fake Steve. The guy who ran with Nomad. He's crazy and thinks he's really Steve. He wants to fight Bucky.
F4 #557 - Rated 5 - I really can't believe these are the guys who did Ultimates. Reed makes a giant deus ex machina robot to fight CAP. Reed wins thanks to a command in his programming. Whatever. And I can't believe Reed gave Sue a ring made of a mini-universe with living beings in it. Accidently lose it down the sink and you just killed 700 zillion beings.
Wolvie Origins #25 - Rated 7 - Bucky as Winter Soldier takes out Wolvies Son. Wolvie takes his son away to get his mind unscrambled. DP is left cut up on the floor. Daniel Way has no idea how to write DP.
Mighty Avengers #14 - Rated 6 - More of "nothing important". We learn Skrull Jarvis took files of the Avengers to the Skrulls. Mostly so they can learn how to deal with Sentry. Plus we see more "heroes" if you can ID them. I'm fairly sure that was "Spider Woman". And she kind of confirms its just her and "Jarvis" in the tower as the only Skrulls. Anyways we go to Sentry after he fled the Skrull battle and he's now The Void or like a hybrid.
X-Factor #31 - Rated 8 - Good dialogue as ususal. Mutant Town is burning and the people cant escape due to Arcades force field. The team moves out to save who they can. Ricter gets teh duty of hacking Arcades PC but cant figure it out so he smashes it... and that works. Fun book.

I so called that one. I knew it had to be the commie smasher Steve/Cap of the 50's. Last thought to of killed himself after leading a neo-nazi group.
Score one for me.

But if I say "Mr. JTR scored", it sounds wrong.
Boycotting Marvel since One More Day
Boycotting DC since Damian Wayne and the Pu52
Never boycotting Hcrealms. Ya'll are too much fun!

Kinda fun, but I see your point about nothing really happening. As for the guess the heroes, the blond could be Pym. It's hard to tell though. As for Spider-Woman, yeah, looks like she got nabbed. But until we see the swap, it could be Jessica posing as the Empress posing as Spider-Woman.
Ultimate X-men- I was hesitant, but this seems to be going in a bold new direction.
We first go back to colossus's past to discover that he owes a favor to a mob boss, because he doesn't want to be "outed" as a mutant to his father. The hellions/x-men are playing a game of baseball (firestar is there!) when they are attacked and easily beaten by the Ultimate Alpha flight. (Vindicator, Snowbird, shaman, Jubilee, Sasquatch, sunfire, Aurora) Northstar is taken as their prisoner and Colossus goes on a rampage...only to get upstaged by aurora! Although Colossus is angry that the x-men don't go after Northstar right away, Jean senses something else wrong as well. They find out that the Alpha flight members take a drug called "banshee" which increases mutant powers close to god-level. She takes it upon herself to enter Colossus's mind (without permission) and finds out there is more to his mutant power than they thought. He also uses banshee (which is where his strength comes from) and the x-men/colossus get into a big fight. Colossus ends up "quitting" the team and goes to the X-jet to get Northstar. When he opens the door we see Cyclops wanting to help him out as he is scared of Jean's powers. Cyclops doesn't want colossus to be alone, but colossus isn't because he has his own X-men going with him.........and they've already taken the drug to get enhanced!!! (Dazzler, Angel, Rogue, Nightcrawler) They look pretty cool and I guess next month we'll see if Cyclops gets the enhancement too.

Youse guys are totally wrong about Mighty Avengers. It had Sentry in it, and lots of him. That's ALWAYS a huge plus. Though seriously, having The Void appear like that is the first interesting twist Bendis has made with the Sentry since he brought him back.
Amazing Spider-Man #560 was OK. I actually read last week's comics today, so I got to enjoy this two parter together. Anyway, Paper Doll (I think that's her name) goes after a photographer who plans to sue that celebrity she's obsessing over. She gives up when he tells her he'll drop the lawsuit. Spidey is there too, though he's essentially talking scenery aside from giving out some obvious advice. At the very end, the celeb's publicist is killed by Paper Doll right after he gives Dexter Bennet info on when the guy will be meeting his mystery girl so he can pass it on to Peter. However, it turns out his mystery girlfriend is MJ. Honestly, I'm shocked it took them this long to bring it back. New villain was sorta interesting, though the puns got a bit irritating. I hope that now that Mary Jane is back, things can get a little more interesting.
I read through Mighty Avengers in the store, and found it totally blah. More Emo crying from the Sentry (argh, I get he's a hoser 'eh, have him wind up a Skrull or something, really, how can Stark say he's for responsible heroing while draging this nit wit along). At least the Void showed up, that COULD be interesting in Invasion.
Also found the Cap story to be totally lackluster. Only way to improve it would be to have it really be Steve, only he's been brainwashed into believing he's the fake Steve.
The Illiad gets an 8/10. Another good issue, with good pacing. All leading into next issue, where Achillies goes billy berserk and kills everyone.
"Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad,
He's so bad, he mak'a me mad
Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad
He's a real cad, Un-fun Dad"
Did anyone else get the feeling that Mighty Avengers was supposed to be an issue of New Avengers that was mis-titled?
Since SI started, Mighty Avengers has been dealing with Nick Fury, and New Avengers has been dealing with the background stuff like this. And we just had an issue of Mighty Avengers last week (or maybe it was the week before). I'm pretty sure Marvel screwed up and this was supposed to be an issue of New Avengers.
HeroClix needs more Goblin.
Acceptable in such forms as Green, Grey, Demo, Hob, Ultimate, and "Menace."
Well, The Sentry is on the Mighty Avengers team, so that's probably why it was in that series. Also, thanks to Frank Cho, that title is way behind schedule, so Marvel is probably get it back on track.

Fair enough. It just bugs me that the last issue had Nick Fury assembling his team and asking them "any of you know what a Skrull is?" and then it said "To be continued..." and this issue was the continuation, yet had nothing to do with the previous issue. I guess I should save judgment until the next issue of New Avengers comes out, but it seems like a mistake to me right now.
And I can't be mad at Frank Cho, despite the delays. I just re-read his Shanna the She-Devil today. It was just so... full of boobs. Ain't nothing wrong with that.
