So as I understood the whole thing, ALL the New Gods were to die to make way for the new super-amazing Fifth World. Kirby's story was finally over, and there were to be some new movers and shakers causin trouble and ripping through the universe.

We literally follow the bouncing ball (a.k.a. the Source) as he kills everyone with a mother box or bad Kirby teeth, smushes the two New Gods worlds into one (which I'll refer to as "New Apokysis"), and then leaves. Of course, now they aren't dead at all. They are hangin out on Earth, while their landord remodels and downgrades their apartments. In effect, the "old" New Gods are now the "new" New Gods. They'll tool around in humans shells, get new costumes, then go home. Big whoop! You wanna fightaboutit?!?!

Man, Darkseid is gonna be pissed when he gets to New Apokysis and find that someone had been using his toothbrush...
