I didn't see one started yet, so why not get the ball rolling! This is the official Wizard World Chicago 2008 thread!

I'll be there all three days plus the preview night (at least that's the plan right now). I'll be driving up with my local judge (Rob, aka fillonius) and we'll be at the Double Tree.


Some questions for those that are going...

1st, it looks like WK is charging full MSRP plus some for boosters for the battle royales. Would anyone be interested in a couple of non-WK supported/sponsered battle royales? Either during the con or afterwards someplace? I was thinking about picking up a brick each of JL & M&M and bringing them with me for something like this. Cost would be $7-8 (I'd sell them for what I paid for them) and I could kick in some FCBD Iron Man figs or something for prizes. I could also get a case of Alpha and try the BR rules with that them if anyone would be interested. Thoughts and feedback?

Edit: I picked up a brick of JL and a brick of M&M as well as 8 Alpha boosters to run some friendly BRs with. Cost will be $7 a booster.


2nd, is there any interest in doing an event like the WWE Grand Battle Invitational at WWC? Rob and/or myself could run something similar if there would be interest in doing it. The rules would probably be similar, but I'd probably throw a couple of twists into it. The WWE rules can be found here.

I am going, but for the first time in 12 or 13 years, it'll be a truncated trip. Getting there on Friday night and will be going to the Con Saturday/Sunday only.

I don't really play clix at the Con much anymore, but I have been known to sneak in a few BRs here and there if possible.

3 or 4 of us are going. We are getting there Friday and staying til Sunday. I forget the name of the place we are staying. Depends on how I do in qualifying/possibly playing in the championship event, but I'll play in whatever you guys do. Sounds like a fun time and will be cool meeting some of you.

I'll be there for saturday and sunday, i believe Proteus/Goose will be with me. I'd get down on some cheaper BR with you guys Hair.

I'll be there. Hopefully I do betta this time around and make da finals. I'll probably just drive there and back each day, since its only like and 35-50min drive. The Grand Battle thing sounds very fun.

I'm hoping to be able to go for at least Saturday, but it'll depend on the child situation at my house.

I will be making a one day, Saturday daytrip to WWC. I will be bringing my 5 year old grandson to his first ever comic con I know he will have a blast and me asleep before we leave the city limits on the trip home.

I don't think I will have time for clix as I doubt he would want tp sit down to play a game. He LOVES to play with clix, but the game would be another story.

And Yes I am a 43 year old grandpa My step-son blessed our family with a superhero loving boy 5 years ago!

are there any organized heroclix events as wwc?

There should be. Keep your eyes on the WK con page found here. Hopefully they'll update it (although they didn't for WWE ).

I will be there. Possible afternoon on Friday, but definately Saturday and Sunday and would love to see a Realms. battle.

I'll be there Thurs afternoon/evening through Sunday.

damn, its people like Karl who makes me want to live in the US. As a student, i just cant afford travelling down to the states from Canada and then have to book rooms to attend a con. It looks sooo much fun. I wish i can join you guys in that battle royale

I took the time off work to come up for WWC but have made 0 plans for the actual trip. I haven't booked travel or lodging. Apathy may prevent this from happening.

Sadly i can not make it there. So somebody else will just have to take third place in a WW tournment this year.
