Welcome, one and all, to the DBZ Mafia game.

Shadow40 will be co-modding for me. He'll be helping with vote counts and such. Anything he says, consider it official.

This will be covering Season 1. This season encompasses the coming of Raditz to Earth, Goku's travel to King Kai's world, the terrible battle between Nappa and the defenders of Earth, and finally, the fight between Goku and Vegeta.

There's quite a few rules I want to go over.

If you are new to Mafia, please PM me with any questions you may have. We have numerous resources in this sub-forum, as well, for you to look through. It is highly recommended that you not ask the general playing populace questions while in-game. This could give away vital information to your role, and get you killed in-game.

This game will be more complicated than what's described there, as probably everyone has some sort of 'special thing' about them. Doesn't mean everyone has a night power, but you never know...

2) When you vote, please do so by saying Vote: [Player] in bold. If you wish to change your vote, please say Change Vote: [Player] instead. Voting for 'Nobody' is a valid vote; if a majority votes for 'nobody' then nobody will be lynched and we'll move on to the Night phase.

3) If your role says you -may- or -can- PM me a target, you don't have to do anything at night. Even so, it'll speed things along quite a bit if you'd still just send me a PM saying "Not using my [whatever] power tonight, thanks."

4) If your role says you -must- PM me a target, and you do not? I'll pick one randomly. Or, perhaps, not-so-randomly. Don't blame me if you target someone who kills you.

5) You may NOT send a PM to anyone about this game unless your role explicitly says you can. This is cheating, and can get you mod-killed.

6) Do NOT edit your posts in this thread. This is cheating, and can get you mod-killed.

7) Please do not copy-and-paste anything from any PM I send you to the thread. This is also cheating and can get you mod-killed. You can parahprase information in your own words.

8) Please do not post in this thread after you are killed. This, too, is cheating and can ruin the game if done wrong.

9) Cheaters don't get to play in any other Mafia games I run.

10) Remember, it's just a game. You will get paranoid, you will be stabbed in the back by someone, you will see somebody do or say something stupid and want to smack them. Just breathe deep and relax. If things get out of hand, you have a mod around who will forcibly remind you to chill out if needed. It hasn't happened yet, and I'd like to keep it that way.


Few things you should know about me as a mod, if you haven't had me as a mod before:

1. I'm not very nice when people break the rules. If it's an accident, fine. But if it isn't, there are stern consequences. The rules above are to be followed. They are not guidelines, they are rules. They are in place to make this game fair and balanced. I feel very strongly about this.

What happens in other games, happens in other games. I don't care if Mod xyz let you get away with this, it says in the rules not to do this, so don't do it.

2. Understand the nature of some of the rules, and follow that nature. If a rule says "Don't quote a PM", that probably means that the Mod doesn't want you using your PMs for identification purposes, period. There are no exceptions here.

3. No posting when you're dead. Period. End of story. This is something that slides in other games. Not this one.

4. Participate in the game. All this means is to make sure you post once every day phase, and get me your PMs within the 24 hour limit. If you don't participate, you slow down the game for all of us, and you hurt the balance of the game, regardless of your role.



That all being said, here's a few things special about this game:

1. This is DBZ. People fly, they fire energy blasts out of their hands, they blow up planets, and they are never, ever truly dead. Don't think it's over, until it's over.

2. Expect anything. Seriously. Last time I ran a DBZ mafia game, I had Nekomajin in it. And Trunks re-wrote a writeup.

Night Zero.......1 year ago.

"Brother, you can't do this!!! The blast will kill us both!! Are you insane??"

"Piccolo, NOW!!"

"SPECIAL BEAM CANNON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"


And with that, Piccolo's ultimate desire had been achieved. He had finally killed Goku. Yet he stood there, afraid. No waves of joy. No celebratory feeling whatsoever. Just....afraid. Because the Saiyan was still talking.

"You fools, they heard everything. They'll be coming, and they're WAY stronger than I am!!"


It was time to prepare. A battle awaited them. Piccolo abducted Gohan, and trained him in the wilderness. Goku, dead, traveled to find King Kai, to receive his special training. And the others, they just prayed that they would be strong enough.



Night Negative One

"Well Goku, I think it's time you headed out!"

"You're right King Kai, the Saiyans will be here in one day. Thank you for all you've done for me. I'm sure I'll be ready for them, now."

And with that, Goku headed for King Yemma's palace, knowing that he was about to be wished to life

"....what? Are we there already?"

"No, we've just nearly arrived. Time to get ready."

The two Saiyans smiled at each other. They couldn't wait to get those dragonballs, and make their wish.

But then........something happened. This universe suddenly changed. Inexplicably, and without reason or cause, a hole has formed in the very fabric of reality. And two small pieces of paper float through. Each of them transforming into....something.

And the reverberations are felt throughout the universe.

This isn't right.....something's wrong. I thought the Saiyans were bad enough, but, I think things just got a whole lot worse for everyone involved.


Night Zero


"Well, we're here. Let's start with killing someone."

"Gohan, they're here. We need to head them off."

"How is it that I live and breathe? And you're here? I thought.....perhaps...yes....that'll do nicely...."


And then, just as everyone was meeting for one giant confrontation, it happened. Nobody could remember who anyone else was.

The fighting stopped immediately.

But there was already a casualty.


I am dead. I am King Kai. And frankly, I couldn't be happier. Because now I'm home again. And for some strange reason, I was on Earth to begin with.......


Day 1 begins now. With 28 people, 15 is a majority vote.
