Aston X-Men #26 - Rated 7 - Um, they find the alien or mutant or whatever and try to stop him from making his box thingy. He ends up killing himself so he doesnt get caught. Needs more Agent Brand.

F4 #559 - Rated 8 - Johnny gets captured after a fight q/ Banners crew. Sue meets Reeds old college GF and she tells Sue that she discovered only the elite get to go to new Earth when old Earth dies in 30 years. And oh yea, Dr. Banner (Hulk?) and his crew have also captured Galactus. WTF? That needs explaining.

SI #5 - Rated 8 - Brand fights her way to Reed and frees him. He then makes a gun whcih reveals Skrulls. They head to Africa and use it. None of the "captured heroes" were real. Hawkeye is most dismayed to find out his returned wife is a Skrulla nd vows death to them all.

SI: Runaways/YA #2 - Rated 7.5 - The skrulls find out the half-breed savior is on Earth and sends another Elektra Skrull to kill him. the YA and Runaways all get in fights with Skrulls. Bet of all is Molly launching one into orbit!

SI: Thor #1 - Rated 7 - Not as well written as the normal Thor series. Beta Ray Bill escapse capture and finds Thor they and the Asgardians prepare to fight the Skrulls. Loki finds an oppertunity to cause mischief.

I was really hoping Mockingbird wasn't a skrull.

Really though I feel like a -lot- of time was wasted for them all being Skrulls; we even had one-shot stories with them focusing on character building (e.g. - the adventure with Skrull Beast and Wonder Man).

Like I said in another thread, I'm feeling like the Skrull Infestation is just Marvel Zombies all over again...something to be milked for as long as possible.

Amazing Spider-Man had Peter rescuing his roommate from fem Kraven. Apparently they both thought he was Daredevil, so the disguise worked. No one asked why Daredevil was giving "Spider-Man" his web shooters, but this was the kind of story where you shouldn't ask questions. Spider-Man, the real one, later goes to visit his roommate and tells him he used the guy as a fake secret ID, putting him in harm's way. What a lame excuse. Anyway, the reveal at the end is that Kraven's daughter has a mother, and she's also a hunter. Shocking!

Secret Invasion: Inhumans promised to follow up on Silent War, and it has in that Maximus is in charge. However, everything else that was great about that series aside from plot threads is absent. Medusa brings back the fake Black Bolt to the moon. Things go crazy later on when some of the Inhumans are revealed to be Skrulls and a riot breaks out. Black Bolt is revealed to be on a Skrull ship where they've been torturing him, waiting for him to scream and trigger some huge weapon that'll be used on...something. Earth? I guess we'll see. Decent, but for an Inhumans series, a bit of a let down.

I'd have to agree. I said it when they first spilled out of the ship, it would be a total cop out if they were all real or all skrull. Well, Bendis took the cop out and made 'em all Skrull.

The rest of the issue was fine, but that was so lame and trite it was pathetic.

Sigh...such a wasted opportunity to fix characters they've massively screwed up.

I gotta say for me I'd rather them all be skrulls. Because then I'd think it's as bad as a magic fix. To me it would have been a bigger cop out. All being human would have been too easy

Its a no win for Marvel with the fanboys. If they are all Skrulls, they are pissed that their old favorites aren't coming back. If they are real, its Marvel being lazy and just magically bringing characters back.

I only got one Marvel comic this week. I swear, after reading the above reactions, I feel so happy that I've deliberately avoided the main Secret Invasion storyline. It truly sounds like a tuurd.

The Last Defenders #6 - rated 7.5
"This is predetermination colliding with confirmation. The universe cries out for its Defenders and these are the true ones."

I confess that based on solicitations and interviews, I could see for at least the last two months where this mini-series was going, so there weren't any major surprises for me. Still, seeing how this intriguing team comes together is pretty fun. For many, the ending, which really makes it feel like the 6th issue of an ongoing, may feel like a disappointment. A number of obvious questions never get addressed, but it does end with a note of potential that really makes me hunger for more.

Did you ask yourself this question after Gwen's babies?

I think the cop out would have been to use this "Skrulls" captured them stuff to bring back dead heroes.

it makes perfect sense from a strategic stand point (and i called it at issue one)

they even explain in the last New Avengers WHY the skrulls wanted to sow this kind of confusion.

The Skrull version genuinly believed they were the real deal.

i have to say i can not believe how disappointing secret invasion has been for the last three issues. three and four were almost total deadlock in savage land, and now with five bendis takes the easy way out(everyone on the ship being skrulls) i think after this series gets done carpping out, bendis needs to take a break from comics, because this is getting real stale real fast. seriously almost nothing new happened in savage land for two issues! take out all that stalling and this could have been a six issue series, or the stuff in mighty and new avengers could have been included in the main book instead of tie ins. i know it's a summer event, but come on! two issues of treading water is ridiculous!
