And I think it's great if you're playing a late-game Rogue deck, or as a sideboard card against stall decks, but I think it's too slow for the super-aggressive "kill you in the face" Rogue deck that Sinister Strikes, Backstabs, and Eviscerates.
I think it's simply too slow for the game. Cards that cost more than 4 are barely viable. If you figure out how to stall well with rogue, it can be OK, but tapping 5 resources to set yourself up 1 and set your opponent back one probably won't be a winning strategy, at least not until more expansions come out.

the card is not too expensive, there are plenty of times you have to buckle down and do what needs to be done for a large cost.
This card can slow stalling decks while your allies or whatever pick off their little guys. There is also a chance that you will get acceleration as well. It's just a plain good card.
I don't think you have enough resources to stealth with the above scenario, but I understand what your saying. Anyways too bad a large portion of players think badly of Rogues in the TCG though.

Not me im making a rogue deck, pimp my ride style :D
It may be 5 cost but...technically, it's possible to get 4 off in a row, that would be auto GG :P
Turn 5: Resource, Lobotomize
Your Resource: 6 Theirs: 4
Turn 6: Resource, Lobotomize
Your Resource: 8 Theirs: 4
Turn 7: Resource, Lobotomize, Lobotomize
Your Resource: 11 Theirs: 4
Course the chances of that happening is meh, but hey!
In that scenario, they would just be filling up their board with allies while you were spending all your points on Lobotomize.
In my (limitied) experience, Lobotomize isn't that great. If you've ever played magic, think of it in terms of "destroy target land" cards, which were never really that great.
The problem with this card is that if you use it early (turn 5 or 6) you're basically giving up a turn to ko a resource. If you do it later (turn 10 or so) then it'll be too late to effectively mess up your opponent as they will probably have all the resources they need anyways (unless they're gunning for a 9 drop or something). One nice thing about it though is that you can use not just to KO a resource but to possibly take out a key quest of your opponent's before they can use it.

Yeah, but your also forgetting the fact that it lets you PLAY a resource. It would be a stone rain + rampant growth + the ability to have an EXTRA resource for the next turn.
Also, for the first 3 or so turns after the first labotomize, you still have enough resources to play allies, or use abilities to exhaust some, etc. etc. etc.

I didn't mention that part of the card because it doesn't seem that good to me. Of course it's great if you're running a deck with a lot of 7+ cost guys. But it is a little situational as you have to be stealthed (shouldn't be hard for a Rogue though).
The problem there though is you're giving up 2 cards (lobotomize and the card you place down) and practically a whole turn to do this. So while you're gaining resource advantage, you're giving your opponent a pretty nice hand advantage, and a turn to counter and set up board advantage. So whatever it is you play next turn better be really worth it.

No necessarily, the increase in resource can help you complete multiple quests, play multiple low drops, a big drop + low, etc.
that and I forgot to mention Lobotomize lets you play a resource face down from the TOP of your deck, so no card disadvantage there, only 100% goodness.

Oh, I misread it. That's much better than dropping a card from your hand.
I'll have to emphasize Dave's point. Lobotomize would be good if it didn't cost so much, but it does. If you are looking for competitive strategies, ou're either going to:
a) be dead before you play it
b) be dead because you tapped 5 to play it
c) be in a real disadvantageous situation against another control deck after your play it
I'm having enough problems staying alive with what little testing I've done by tapping 4 for Premeditate, and that card is simply ridiculous. :X

5-mana land destruction is worthless in this game, especially since you can't get mana-screwed, so you aren't really punching them in the guts when you do it. It's nice land acceleration, but it's too conditional and again, costs quite a bit. Definitely not something to keep packed in a Rogue deck - they thrive much better on quick and dirty damage.
