1) There is a town. They win by getting rid of the mafia/non-friendly neutrals. Each night, many of them do something (investigate or protect for instance) to try to find the mafia. During the day, they try to vote off the mafia.
2) There is a mafia, maybe even more than one. They win by getting rid of everybody that isn't in their mafia. Each night, they will remove townies from the game. Each day, they will try to prevent the townies from voting them off.
3) If more than half the players vote for the same player during the day, that player is lynched and is removed from the game. You should bold your lynch votes so that I don't miss them or think you are kidding. You can vote for anyone but chances are nothing will happen if you try to lynch someone who isn't playing. You can also vote for a no lynch, but some mods will remove a random player from the game to ensure that the game doesn't stagnate if no player is voted off. I don't let you do any fancy voting except simply leaving your vote with another player.
4) There are unfriendly neutrals that could be trying to kill everybody or recruit their own mafia or maybe something else entirely. They win in odd ways but they hurt the town so the town must eliminate them to win.
5) There are friendly neutrals. They also have strange win conditions but they don't really hurt the town. Sometimes they can win with either the town or the mafia but in general the town doesn't need to get rid of them. Friendly and unfriendly neutrals are hard to tell apart and you'll just have to use your best judgement on whether you want to vote for them or leave them be.
6) Don't do these 3 things: Quote your role pm or the role pm of anybody else, talk about this game outside of this thread even via pm unless you are pming a mason teammate or a mafia teammate, edit your posts. If you do one of these 3 things, you may be modkilled to ensure the game's fairness.
The town wins with the town. If you think somebody has a similar role to you and you think you can prove who you are by quoting part of your role, don't. Don't ask someone their win condition!
For this game!
There are various status effects that might come into play. Yes, there might be people in the same faction who have similar powers.
The bad guys are trying to get the crystals for some evil purpose. The good guys start the game protecting the crystals.
A few of the players have to make either equipment or spell choices before day 1 is over. Please read your role PM thoroughly and let me know your decision.
Above all, have fun. People will try to kill you, lynch you and you may have a teammate stab you in the back. Remember it's just a game and if you aren't having fun, it defeats the purpose of playing in the first place. Try to limit personal attacks and/or whining.
Night 0
The armored man walked into the throne room, eyes cast downward. The king addressed him, “You have defied me for the last time. You are hereby relieved of your command of the Red Wings. Now take this package to the village Mist, and redeem some sense of honor. Begone…”

The Dark Knight remembered that scene as if it were yesterday. If only he’d refused the king one last time—all those innocent people in Mist would still be alive. He had managed to save the girl, though, and he started gathering other friends to warn them of the king’s quest for the crystals. A Karate Fighter from Fabul, his friend the mighty Dragoon, even some wizards from Mysidia—all ready to strike back at King Baron and his evil new Commander Golbez.
The disgraced knight and his friends boarded the ship, ready to sail back to Baron and overthrow the evil king. The passengers were full of optimism, until one of the sailors spotted an enormous whirlpool in the ship’s path. It was too late—they couldn’t change directions. An enormous sea serpent surfaced, sending a huge wave at the side of the ship. Captain, crew, and passengers were swept overboard. As the Dark Knight fought the waves in his heavy armor, he saw the girl from Mist being swallowed whole by the beast. The next thing he knew he woke up on a beach and his friends were gone. His memory was fuzzy. What side was everyone on?
Mbauers is dead. He was the Captain of the ship from Fabul, who went down with his ship.
Alright, I've always considered doing this when I get a role like mine so I've decided to finally try it.
I'm a neutral survivor. I honestly don't care that much who wins. I just think that if the mafia kills me, they'll be wasting their kill and preventing me from winning unnecessarily.
If the town wants my name today or if they want to track me to ensure I'm not a sker or starting a cult, that's completely cool.

No reason to waste this day completely when we can have a discussion about final fantasy.
What's everyone's favorite?
Can't really narrow it to just one. The original will always be a fond favorite as I played it back when it was new, and was blown away by how vast it was. As for overall story, it goes to FF-X. It was nice to have a main character that said more than "..." and it played out in ways I could have only hoped.
Of course, IV and VI are right behind in my mind in terms of greatness. VIII was so-so, and I think VII is just plain overrated.
Some are born great
Some achieve greatness
And some have greatness thrust upon them
