Don't get me wrong; there's no reason this guy WON'T earn double his points in a game. But it's so bare bones for a Spider-Man that I feel like I'm looking at an LE from Infinity Challenge. I would have accepted that dial on Doppelganger. NOT Spider-Man himself. Still, I can't deny it plays well.
accurate, straight-forward powers that I feel would be well suited for a Rookie Spidey. Blech, what a sculpt. I swapped mine out for the old spidey sculpts pulled from their unplayable bases. Amazing deal for the points. Finally, I've got a reason to put my homeboy on every team.
The Inhuman of Team Vegas,
Black Bolt of the Vegas Illuminati
Quite possibly the best use of 50 points in the whole game (other than giving two separate 200+ point bricks the Fortitude feat in a 1000 point game).
For just 4 points more, rookie Wildcat and his cheap 3DaV flurry ruled tourneys for a while. For fewer points, this Spidey brings 2 clicks of 3DaV flurry with good AV of his own, plus a range attack, plus being a wildcard. He loses a click of life plus regeneration but that's a worthy tradeoff, especially since, as a WC, he may be able to keep the regeneration (and even have more of it) if you're running SUicide Squad or even X-Men. For the points this guy is just sick; especially as he has the easily abusable Scientist keyword.
The sculpt is a cute concept but the execution is quite poor. Simple as that.
Comic accuracy, like with most versions of Spidey other than Critical Mass, still suffers. Yes, Spidey more often than not relies on his spider senses as his first means of defense, but Spidey warrants toughness also. Likewise, Spidey warrants super strength and there are too few spideys out there who have it; most having just incapacitate instead for his webbing. Lastly, while I appreciate his truncated dial length for keeping point cost down, Spidey should really be longer lived.
This guy broke my heart. His kid is in the set and she gets an 18 defense and to add insult to injury she gets the nifty spider sense power! Dont get me wrong for 50 points hes very playable, but he feels like he is missing some stuff like regular incap and an extra clix of life. Also why is this guy an exp spidey, he feels more like a rookie if you ask me. All that aside still for 50 points he is pretty playable. A shame he cant use the ATA of the FF.

a little under powered for Spider-man,the attack stats are right on it,,but the defense, should of been higher,,an the sculpt,,well lets just say i have 2 of them, one i kept intact for correctors sake,,the other i replaced with HeroScape figure.i am just wondering when is Spider-Man going to get hes much needed Stealth,,i mean for a guy who uses it all the time in the comics i would think he would finally get it on a Heroclix.
Thanks to his wildcard TA, he's a cheap, giant-killing piece worth a bit more than his points on any team. If he could move+attack, he'd be perfect. See my full review at http://www.pojo.com/heroclix/COTD/index.shtml
