The evening swamp air was cool, as crickets (or Rimbor’s evolutionary equivalent to crickets, that is) chirped. The long reeds rustled as a shadow enveloped the stars above. The faint outline of a sphere could be made out descending in front of the tavern’s entrance, as the stars reappeared, and the sound of several footfalls could be faintly heard over the ambience.
“You guys ready for this?” Lightning Lad stated in a commanding tone.
**Of course we are, Garth. You know, we probably could have used those Science Police Officers’ help here. This won’t be easy.** Imra thought cast to their field leader.
“Whoa, whoa-- we don’t need those feebs!” Kid Quantum laughed. “LL did the right thing back there. This is Legion business.”
**Really. Informing Rimborian customs that a number of Science Police Officers are under the influence of Gimrakk root, and have some in their possession, is Legion ‘business?’**
“Well, no…” Kid Quantum replied, sheepishly.
“It really was harmless, Imra,” Shadow Lass said. “They’ll be clear within hours.”
“Heh.” Lightning Lad chuckled, his turn for a sheepish grin, as Imra continued to look at him sternly, foot tapping.
“What? What’d you do Garth?” Shadow Lass asked.
“Well…you’re right. They normally wouldn’t be held up from a prank call like that….unless…” He replied, stifling a chuckle.
**Unless someone –actually- plants a few bags of Gimrakk root ON the Officers while they aren’t looking!** Imra chastised, clearly displeased.
“Oh man, you didn’t!” Kid Quantum laughed, clutching her stomach.
“Heh, well, yeah…,” Lightning Lad, a huge grin on his face turning quickly into the stern look befitting a founder of the Legion. “Allright guys, enough joking around. It’s time for business. We’ve got intel from Brainy that the two we’re looking for are holed up here. Lucky for us, they’ve joined forces, and are part of a greater group known as the ‘Old Skool Bastiches’, whatever that means. They’ve joined up with a fellow known as ‘The Colonel’, and are supposedly here meeting their fourth member, a guy called ‘The Hound. Our job is to take them out, and bring Persuader and Mano back to Brainy.”
**Did you try and get a hold of Jo?** Imra asked.
“Yes. He said he was really busy with some ‘errands’ (which I’m pretty sure is code for running amok the local authorities). He’ll meet us here as soon as he’s finished with that.”
“Well, let’s do this then!” Kid Quantum rooted.
“Yes. Let’s.” Lightning Lad said, as he strode forward, lightning arcing out of his footsteps, eye’s lit up bright with fury. He moved forward with confidence, as he opened the twin doors of the saloon. What he saw….surprised him. Violence, chaos. Men being thrown through tables, into mirrors. There was blood, sweat, and a variety of fluids flinging about the establishment. The stink of bodies, booze and vomit permeating the area. No one seemed to notice the super teens entering the building.
“Well,” Shadow Lass said, as Lightning Lad looked into the ruckus, wide eyed. “This will be fun.”

The owners of this establishment are used to collateral damage. They have forged the walls and equipment therein with an unbreakable alloy. The walls and blocking terrain are unbreakable. There is also a strict, “No flying rule.” All fliers gain Earthbound.
Tonight’s a popular night. There are a number of bystanders in the bar, and they are drunk, and ornery. They are considered to be a part of a neutral force. Bystanders will not move, but will attack who ever is adjacent to them (in the order that they became adjacent. Last one to be based, gets hit.) The bystanders are random. When based or attacked, roll 1d6, and use the table below to determine their stats.
On the result of a ‘6’, by the Legion, the figure is ultra Boy (130 pts, Legion Starter). For the villains, it’s The Hound (130 points, DOFP set). Both figures become friendly to their respective players’ force. After that, all figures are the ‘Legionnaires’ bystander tokens and friendly to the Legion, as part of their force.
Opposing players roll for the bystanders. For instance, if lightning lad bases ‘Colleen Wing’, the villains will subsequently roll the attack. If later, the Persuader bases that same Colleen, the Legion will roll the subsequent attacks.
Also, the Legion IS still a super hero group, as reminded by Imra. For every bystander that survives the altercation, the Legion gains +1 TAP. Any that take more than 2 damage are considered to be slain. Slain bystanders give the Legion -1 TAP. Bystanders that are KOed via 1 damage offer 0 TAP.
So which map do we use or do we use a map chosen by whoever wins initiative? From the looks of it, it looks like it's a set map by the placement of the Bystanders....

Well, heck, I'll help you out Tanis. I've been lax on my villaining I fear, but if I'd realized you had been waiting so long... Although, you know I can't keep up with you at all, so if you'd prefer another, faster, opponent I won't mind, heh.
Ini: 2 + 4
Obj: 1 + 4
So it looks like you've got both, if I'm playing you

Nah I don't mind. I've been getting behind on my villaining as well. I gotta see if anyone else needs a villain.
I'll pick the bottom and will setup shortly.

Okay I'm still trying to fully understand the Bystander thingy. Sooo....if we roll the 1d6 for a particular Bystander, do they stay that fig? Like if I get Colleen for Bystander 2, does Bystander 2 stay Colleen? Also if a 6 is rolled by the villain, then it becomes the Hound...do all the other Bystanders become Legionnaires? Not too sure about all that....

Here's the gist of how it works. The bystander tokens have a shape change esque ability. You declare an attack on them, roll a dice, and then make an attack roll on the character resulting from the dice roll. Once a character's decided, it stays that way for the remainder of the game.
If, the villain/hero rolls a 6, they get their 'champion'. Sp it's possible to go all game without getting your champion, though unlikely. After your champion is summoned, all 6's bring about Legionnaires, that are friendly to Tanis.
Does that clear things up?

Oooh I see, so it's possible to have Ultraboy AND the Hound in play?

Darn...one more question...do we stop when we move adjacent to a bystander? or can we move past them without stopping since they're a neutral force and not an opposing force?
