Outside the Chase Manhatten Bank - Just after the fight

"What happened... let me at him! I'll show that Baywatch reject no-one throws Nova around like that!" Nova shouts as he gets back on his feet, swinging wildly at the air for a few seconds before he realises no-one seems to be fighting back.

"Relax Nova, they're all down. We won." Vance smiles. "But it looks like 'Thrash took a pretty bad hit when that big guy fell on him. We'd better get him back to the HQ and have him patched up."

"Yeah, yeah. I'll just go make sure they're really all down for the count!" Nova grumbles, still spitting out dirt after his faceplant. Walking over to the singed and unconcious Condor, Nova kneels down to take a closer look at his old foe. "Ok, he's down alright. Nice work Babe" Nova grins to Firestar who throws him a burning stare.

"I'd prefer if you called me Firestar rather than Babe, unless you'd prefer me to call you Jackass rather than Nova?"'

"Whoa, no need to get catty, sheesh, some women can't take a compliment... Hey, what's this?" Nova picks up a small piece of charred paper that appears to have fallen from Condor's pocket.
"Looks like a phone number of some sort. Maybe Thrash and his buddies can check it out when we get him back!"

As he talks, the flash of a blitz catches his eyes and the Warriors notice someone in the crowd shooting a quick series of photos before darting away.

"Oh, that reminds me" Spidey suddenly speaks up. "I think I left my oven on, it's been fun, but I'm sure I'll bump into you chumps later. See you around!"

Spidey slaps Nova on the back in a friendly gesture, conveniently leaving a Spider-Tracer there for later and swings off, stopping to collect his automated camera from a nearby wall. It's not until he picks it up that he notices something's wrong. "Oh man, I can't believe I forgot the film! The famous Parker luck strikes again..."

The Daily Bugle - later that day

"PARKER!" The angelic sound of Jonah's gentle voice rings through the door to his office. "I know you're out there, I can hear you wasting my secretary's time with your inane chatter. This is a newspaper, not a dating service so get in here before I lose my temper!"

'Lose it? When did you find it?' Parker thinks, wisely keeping it to himself as he enters the office of J. Jonah Jameson.
"You whispered for me Jonah?" Peter smiles, trying not to gag on the noxious clouds of cigar-smoke that envelopes him.

"Don't try to be smart with me Parker, I'm not paying you to make jokes! I'm paying for pictures, and you'd better have some for me! Spider-Man tried to rob the Chase Manhatten bank earlier today along with some costumed clowns so let's get those pictures of yours down to print so I can finally crucify that Menace once and for all!"

"Err.. yeah, about that" Peter begins. "I couldn't really get any good shots... and when you called I was out with my girlfriend and I didn't really get there until it was over... but I don't really think Spider-Man was trying to..."

"You're useless Parker!" Jonah interrupts. "What do you think I'm paying you for you goldbricking lollygagger?"

"Actually Jonah, you're not paying me at all, I'm a freelancer, remember?" Peter grins back at his fuming boss.

"Can it boy, or I'll hire you just so I can fire you on the spot! Anyways, good thing I've got people around here I can actually depend on!"

Jonah throws down a series of photoes of the Warriors fighting the Trio outside the bank, and one of Spidey seemingly fleeing the scene. Noticeably absent are any photos showing Spider-Man actually fighting the trio along with the Warriors.

"What? Someone else was there? Who took these?" Peter gasps as he looks through the damning *evidence*.

"New kid, Eddie Brock or something like that. Bright lad, good head on his shoulders and he might just be gunning for your job Parker!" Jonah exclaims with a triumphant grin.
"Now get out of here before I cut your salary for wasting my valuable time!"

With an exaggerated sigh Peter turns to leave, stopping in the door. "Once again Jonah, I don't HAVE a job for him to gun for, OR a salary you can cut for that matter. Freelance, remember?"

He quickly closes the door and runs for the elevator with Jonah's jolly farewell salvo ringing in his ears.

The New Warriors HQ - later that evening

Mustering up all of his willpower to calm down his racing heart Vance takes one last swallow before he enters the room. Looking up from the book she was enjoying Firestar smiles brightly as she spots him.

"Hi Vance, is something wrong?"

"Err... not at all Firestar" Vance tries to continue but clearly his mouth, mind and heart aren't all on the same page at the moment.

"Please, call me Angelica, or Angel" she smiles back at him. "Did you want anything?"

"No... I just wanted to say that you did great job out there, really impressive. And..." Vance comes to a crashing halt yet again as his tongue continues to rebel.

Angel cocks her head slightly, waiting for him to continue.

"And I was wondering if you might want...." Once again the Amazing Marvel Boy comes up short.

"Yes?" Angel smiles at him as Vances notices a peculiar glint in her eye, or maybe just a trick of the light?

"I was wondering if you'd like to..."

Before he can overcome the monumental task of ending the sentence Nova bursts into the room.

"Great news guys! That Chord guy just finished tracing the phone number I found on Condor! It's to some warehouse down in Hells Kitchen owned by a guy called Fisk. We're heading there right away. The light babe made 'Thrash stay behind so she could fix him up, the lucky bastard, but her creepy buddy is going to teleport the rest of us there right away, so lets go!"

Nova turns to leave, halting in his tracks just before he reaches the door. "Hey, did I interrupt something important here or anything?" A broad grin spreading over his face as he notices Vance blushing.

"Just shut up and move it!" Vance bites back. "We don't want to keep Cloak waiting!"

Hell's Kitchen, New York - Not long after

"This should be the place alright" Nova looks down from the rooftop on the non-descript, somewhat dilapidated warehouse.

"It doesn't make any sense" Vance interjects. "According to the info 'Thrash got us this Fisk character is supposed to be a wealthy spice merchant and philantropist. Why would Condor and the others have anything to do with him?"

"Maybe they're just using the warehouse as a hideout?" Angel offers. "I mean, other than the building we don't really have anything to connect the two. For all we know that place is empty now."

"No!" The cold voice of Cloak echoes out. "I sense great evil here. It calls to the Darkness within me, and it in turn yearns for it!"

The rest of the Warriors exchange worried glances for a second.

"Seriously!" Nova whispers to Vance. "Life's not fair. 'Thrash gets to kick back at the HQ getting massaged by a hot blonde and we get stuck checking out a rundown warehouse in the worst part of New York with her creepy buddy!"

Before Vance can reply, a web-line zips across the street and the Amazing Spider-Man swings out of the sky, landing on the roof next to them.

"We REALLY can't keep meeting like this people!" Peter grins at them under his mask.

"You used that joke already Web-head" Nova replies, "And how did you know where we'd be anyways?"

"Oh, a little arachnid whispered it in my ear, but nevermind that. What have we got here?"

"We think it's the place those villains we fought outside the bank used as a hide-out" Vance replies.

"It belongs to some innocent business man named Wilson Fisk. I'm sure he'd appreciate it if we make sure his property has been cleaned out."

Suddenly a cold, harsh voice rings out from the darkness.
"There's nothing innocent about Wilson Fisk. And if you want to do any heroics here in Hell's Kitchen you'll do them on my terms, or not at all!" Following the ominous words a sinister figure in a horned costume leaps from the shadows, landing in a crouch infront of the assembled heroes.

"Daredevil!" Spidey exclaims. "I haven't seen you in forever old buddy. I thought you might have moved or something but you never sent me a change of address card. I figured it was something I said."

Daredevil throws Spidey a stern, unblinking stare which for once in his life, shuts Peter up.

"Fisk is not who you think he is, and neither is that place. He's in over his elbows in every dirty deal that takes place in this city, and he thinks this neighbourhood belongs to him. I'm going to prove him wrong. You can come along if you want, but don't get in my way!"

With those words Daredevil swings directly at the warehouse, crashing through one of the windows with uncanny speed and precision. "You heard the Hornhead!" Nova shouts. "After him!"

In the blink of an eye, Cloak's cape unfolds, swallowing the Warriors whole and before any of them can register anything but an overwhelmingly menacing darkness and bitter cold they reappear inside the warehouse, quite to the surprise of the throng of unsavory elements gathered there already!

In the other end of the large building, a massive man with chalk-white skin in an expensive suit lifts his head, focusing two red-rimmed eyes at the heroes.

"Capes" He whispers through pointy teeth. "just what I needed!" Gesturing to the thugs closest to him he grabs a gun and a black briefcase from the table and heads for the backdoor. "you guys are with me. The rest of you, waste those clowns!"

"What did he say? I think I need my ears checked?" Spidey wonders.

"Who cares what he said, we'll ask him to speak up after we've caught him!" Nova replies.

"Warriors, ATTACK!"

free) Cloak spreads his billowing cape wide, tugging and ensnaring those around him. Hyde swats the tendrils away with an annoyed grunt but the hired goons are less fortunate and finds themselves inorexably pulled towards the gaping Abyss that is Cloak. Cloak poisons the E Henchman and the E Thug.

1) "Cloak is getting swarmed out there. We have to help him! Marvel Boy, give me hand!" "Anything for you Firestar!" Vance manages to blurt out before carefully propelling her forward with his Telekinesis. Vance TK's Angel to M12

2) "Stand down, or I'll be forced to hurt you!" Firestar shouts at the bestial Mr. Hyde who only laughs coldly at her threat. "Alright, if you won't listen, you'll have to feel!" Firestar shoots Hyde with RCE. 8 atk. vs 15 def. Needs a 7. Roll is: (5,6) for an 11 and a very convincing hit! Hyde takes 3 after toughness. Angel will give one of those to Vance because she likes him

A brilliant burst of micro-wave energy flows from Angel's outstretched hands, impacting with the broad shoulders of Mr. Hyde with an audible hiss. Hyde howls in pain as the searing blast sets his shirt on fire and scorches even his thickened hide beneath it.

New Warriors: Turn 4

free) Cloak continues to pull his unfortunate victims closer to the Darkness that is his core, though Hyde is still too strong to be affected. Cloak poisons the E Thug and the E Henchman!

1) "Spider-Man!" Vance shouts in horror as he watches Peter's limb body crash into the wall with sickening force! "We've got to help him Nova!" "On my way Super-Tights! Just give me a pushing start will you?" Vance pushes himself past his limits to TK Nova to L13. He then takes 1 from the push.

2) "Alright you clowns, time for this rocket to launch so you'd better clear the area!" Nova charges directly into the group of villains at break-neck speed! Nova charges to H10, picking up the LO on his way and using it to bash Blizzard's brains in! 9 atk. vs 16 def. Needs a 7. Roll is: (4,3) for a 7 and just barely a hit! Blizzard takes 4 and Nova will share two of his points with Vance.

Nova crashes into the cluster of villains like a bowling ball striking the pins, scattering them briefly with the force of his impact. Blizzard has the particular misfortune of being caught directly in his path and is knocked senseless by Nova's massive attack!

3) "Your evil calls out to my Darkness monster! Your punishment awaits!" Cloak turns his full attention on Hyde, opening wide to swallow him whole! Cloak attacks Hyde with exploit weakness. 9 atk. vs 12 def. Needs a 3. Roll is: (2,3) for a 5 and hit! Hyde takes 2 penetrating damage and drops the HO where he stands.

Angel, Spidey and Daredevil all clear
