What exactly is the deal with Dr. Strange. Did he relinquish it? Was the title taken away? I know he had to do some "wicked" stuff in the New Avengers but He also said the new Supreme could be Doom. I think Doom will get the title but how is that better than a black magic wielding Strange? Please discuss. Who do you think will be the new Sorcerer Supreme and why?

Based on the recent Marvel Previews, whoever it is seems to join the New Avengers and has interactions with Spider Man.

I doubt it will be Doom in that case. Although that would be awesome.

As of right now, it is looking to be Brother Voodo. Stupid choice IMO. Also, Dr. Strange was found to be unworthy of the mantle during the Planet Hulk storyline when he played host to a Dark Magic being/God in hopes of taking down the Hulk.

Then what was the whole thing with Damien Hellstorm and Billy/Wiccan? I'm sorry if I'm off in my assesment.

I didn't say he'd be the WORST choice, just not a good or Interesting choice.

Dr. Strange is looking for the next sorcerer supreme. The eye of agamoto will tell who it is, thus he is walking around looking for potential candidates. He looks at Wiccan first as he has potential, but The eye didn't do anything unusual for it to be wiccan. Meanwhile, Hood is looking for this same person and he is looking for the people to "off" the competition. He was lead to Damien and a fight will ensue between the 2.

My guess would be that Scarlet Witch would be the next one. it'll put her back on the map and hopefully give her some control over her powers. other potentials could be:

Magik
Brother Voodoo
Druid
Ian

Wouldn't it be interesting if it turned out that Dr. Strange's search for the new Sorcerer Supreme was actually a "cleansing" journey -- one that he's either unaware of or is aware of but isn't willing to say -- and the "new" Sorcerer Supreme is turns out to be Strange himself? Stranger (no pun intended) things have happened with the Doc, after all.

Dr. Strange has in the past Used the Crimson BANDS of Cyttorak.

I agree that Scarlet Witch would be the best choice, that would be pretty cool. It wouldn't surprise me either - it might tie into X-men with them trying to find a cure for what she did and all.

But I think it'll be Doom.
