...does everything have to be Dark? Dark Avengers, Dark X-Men, Dark Wolverine, Dark Young Avengers. What next? A Dark Fanastic Four?
I like the premise behind the Dark Reign storyline but I think it is becoming too far-reaching with turning every title or character into a "Dark" version. It's as bad as the Skrulls. It's just trading one disguise for another.
I really cannot wait until Dark Reign is over...even if I am enjoying it so far.
I was startled by the appearance of "Dark Young Avengers" on my comic shop new releases shelf this week. Regardless, I bought it. However, at a $3.99 price point and with a story that doesn't even have the Young Avengers in it until the last issue, I probably will not be buying a second.
Marvel's not wrong in their marketing idea: grab two potential audiences by mixing Dark Reign and Young Avengers (or any other niche book). I fell for it. But unless the content of these books is going to be higher, it's just going to have negative long-term effects on their own marketing.
"Big Summer Crossover: My Favorite Superteam?" Wow, I love My Favorite Superteam. Unfortunately, I fell for that in Civil War, and Secret Invasion, and Dark Reign. I won't get fooled again.

When our story opens, the Question is investigating an impossible locked-room murder mystery involving a midget and a 6'6"-tall call girl into heavy bondage. Don't worry, I'll explain later. It's all vitally relevant.

I just can't wait for the huge knock down drag out 8 page long slobberknocker that i hope this is building up to. I mean you got teasers of Osborne sittin as a king and Bucky Cap kneelin before him so does that mean he's gonna be dark cap? I mean it's kinda corny to name it all dark but if you sit and look at it it kinda fits but i'm lovin it right now its like i'm spendin a mint to get all the books but thier still good reads

Marvel has never been a company that shows restraint when it comes to an interesting idea.
I remember when the X-Men were one title. I remember the ridiculous overuse of the Punisher in the 1990s. I remember recently, after Civil War when every other Marvel comic had their lead character confront Iron Man, usually with their fists. I remember Secret Invasion and the new Super-Skrulls that were in every other title. Now we have every title with a "Dark" spinoff and Norman Osborn everywhere.
For what it's worth, while I am buying some of the Dark Reign tie-ins, I am buying none of the Dark (fill in the blank) titles, not even Dark Avengers. Color me uninterested.
...now, if we can just get Professor Pyg confirmed.
I don't know, but I'm really enjoying Dark Avengers and am looking forward to Dark X-men(I have to get my Mimic fix somewhere). ...and Daken, even for an emo-wolverine I'm having fun reading about him....Wolverine #75 can't get here fast enough.
I picked up Dark Reign: Young Avengers, and actually found it kind of interesting. I think these are(mostly) characters who could be quite interesting as they get fleshed out(I'd almost bet on Big Zero and Egghead going bad, though). So the actual YA weren't in the issue until the last page. With the way the issue ended, I'd say they'll be playing a rather major role in the next issue at least.
As for the Dark Reign X-Men story-arc, I don't know much about what's planned, but who knows? It could turn out to be good.

And what was wrong with that? It's a logical progression for the Skrulls after successfully grafting the FF's powers onto Kl'Rt. The fact that it didn't happen sooner is what surprises me.

Sure, he was such a loyal, obedient soldier that they couldn't wait to make more...

Oh, I don't think there was anything wrong with it as a basic idea. In fact, I thought it was pretty cool when I first heard about it. It is a logical progression.
What I didn't like was the overuse of them in every other title that diluted and diluted and diluted the concept. Those guys were getting pasted by every hero in Marvel comics. It got to the point that they were nothing more than colorful generic background thug-villains as opposed to the startling, powerful menaces they could have been. Within a month or two after the cool idea was introduced, I was rolling my eyes every time another one showed up.
If they would have used them a lot more sparingly, I would have really liked them.

so far im digging dark reign to a point. But even if the Dark (insert Hero team here) may not be that good ... i colect them just to give me another team to mod .. or assemble .
My comic shop may have accidentally caused me to drop a book...
I've got the flyer for Dark Avengers/Uncanny X-Men here. I hadn't realized that it was a crossover between the regular books as opposed to a standalone miniseries.
I don't buy Uncanny X-Men. I'm not going to buy two comics just so I can understand one. And if I can't understand one... I'm not going to buy it.
