Let's guess plot threads & list rumors about the Blackest Night event.

First up for discussion: Batman's skull.

When we last saw Batman(soul), he was trapped in the past. Superman carried his dead body while incinerating everything in Final Crisis. Now he has an unmarked grave next to his parents which was defiled by Black Hand in Blackest Night #0. What is the purpose of having Bruce's skull? Will Batman come back in BN? I think so.

Second up for discussion is:

The rumor that once BN is over with each DC character will have it's own respective universe with out interaction with characters outside their respective families. Like in the Golden Age, BN will return the golden age. I doubt this will happen as DC has rebuilt it's multi-verse structure so many times in the past 25 years. It would be stupid from a marketing stand point. No more JLA, No more World's Finest, Trinity.

Third up: is a theory of mine.

Hector Hammond has something major to do with BN. I may be wrong for some reason I thought he was going to be an Orange Lantern, you see how that turned out. If you go back & re-read GL issue's 4-6 there is something I quite can't put my finger on.

so my synopsis is:

1. Batman coming back? yes
2. Golden age returning? H... NO!!!!!
3. Hector Hammond BN major player? I think.

They could keep teh already established universe and just allow MORE Universes with just that to spring up.

We haven't seen any solicited or "leaked" images of him as Black Lantern, so I do think He'll come back...but not as a Black Lantern



I'm just waiting for Vibe and all of the B-listed Former JL members to come back and beat the #### out of the all star members.

Well, I think the key to the whole thing will be Hal Jordan, having already been every other color lantern, becoming the White Lantern (since white light is a combination of all the others) and using White Power to defeat the Black Lanterns.

I am with simon moon5, Hal will become an omni-lantern, or white lantern, and beat back the black lanterns, maybe even bringing some of them (the black lanterns) back to life, returning some original Justice Leaguers.

I am pretty sure Dc is not going to make a racial undertoned ending to this story line. Maybe 50 years ago.But I am pretty sure people have evolved from that way of thinking.

I think DC will lure Loeb away from Marvel, give him the reigns of the line and he will completely dismantle the whole DCU in 5 issues.

I personally have faith that Johns will not do the obvious thing and have Hal be a "White Lantern."

HE may end up uniting the corp and leading the charge, but I doubt he will wield white light. If anything, I think it will be shown that willpower is the balance, and that any emotion can be turned into will power, causing a merging of the corps. The Guardians may either become more open to emotion, or replaced altogether. It's going to be a newer, friendlier corps, post BN.

If Bendis hadn't taught him to stretch a story out, I'd say he could do it in 3 issues for the DCU proper, 4 if it's the entire DC Multiverse including Hypertime connections.

Oh and don't forget a 1-2 issues of whiny "Requiem"

Yeah, it's a possibility that Hal will wear all the rings at the same time.
As far as the the black lanterns go, I'm thinkin' we'll see Sodom Yat as a black lantern because he died very recently.

Black Hand is using http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychometry to read Batman's skull. As to who told him where Batman was buried well Scar could have gained that piece of info from the mysterious foe behind the Black Lanterns. It has been stated she is nothing compared to the mystery villain who holds her leash. So given what Scar is doing to the Guardians BE AFRAID BE VERY AFRAID. I've just had a thought what if the reason Scar has been looking for the pieces of the Anti Monitor's armor is so it can serve as a containment suit for NEKRON. The big rumor is Sinestro becomes the White Lantern and DIES as his death is effectively a new "Big Bang". After in Blackest Night we will get In Brightest Day which will be about all the changes and the new DCU continuity. I know people HATED "One More Day" and it's retcon of Spider Man but this DC they tend to have better planing with regards to writing or rewriting major titles.

i don't think that hal will have the white ring at all actually. i think that SINESTRO will wield the ring. he has the same qualities hal has. during the red lantern issues, the guardians told hal that SINESTRO must live. we'll see what happens.

batman won't be a black lantern. he's in the future with kamandi. i just wanna see all the dead ppl come back and tear some stuff up!!

Either one of these two things will happen:

1) The Black Lanterns (henceforth called DC Zombies) will destroy all life, then each other, with the exception of about 5 or 6 of them who will roam the Multiverse looking for more people to kill.

OR

2) Just as it seems noone can withstand the Black Lanterns, Rainbow Brite breaks into the scene, and kicks all arse with the help of the color kids, who have been chrisitend one from each of the colored corps. (Not sure how Hal Jordan will take being called 'Patty O'Green')

The event will end with all of the rainbow colors of rings joining together to do a "Care Bear Stare" of white light to remove the black threat.

Following that the next major event will steal an old My Little Pony plot.
