In the past, Gargantua and I have committed to some big single elimination tournaments to see who was best team in Clix. We determined the best team at 300 points (Defenders), 500 points (Avengers) and 800 points (JSA). Well we're at it again, but this time to make things interesting we're randomizing the point values to see which team is best - at any point value.

Teams must still be able to field 800 points in named figures, no dupes to qualify. Only those figures with the TA on their base may be used, so Hypertime U Flash can't be on the JSA team, but the AA version of him can.

We're at the quarterfinals now. Remaining teams as as follows:

Gargantua will be playing: Skrulls, JLA, Batman Allies and Sinister Syndicate
Flyingicarus will be playing: Brotherhood, X-Men, Titans, and Avengers

Point value of each game will be determined by random die roll, 1d6 +2, x100 for a range of 300-800. No feats will be used

Only one character per team, the one with the highest point value, will be able to use the TA (to keep teams like Mystics and Bat Allies from being too annoying). If he's KOd, then the highest point figure remaining picks up the TA. For teams that require two members to work (like Sinister Syndicate) any piece may be used to trigger the ability, but only the highest point figure may actually use it.

"I can't believe you brought him," Plastic Man, Elongated Man, Red Arrow and Green Arrow all said at once.

"I mean, how many stretchy guys do you need?" the Elongated Man said.

"Exactly and he makes it one too many," Plastic Man protested.

"And we certainly don't need two archer heroes," the young Connor Hawke said.

"And I was around as Speedy looong before you hit the hero scene. I don't care if you are Ollie's kid," Red Arrow piped in.

"Remind me why I am doing this again," Batman said through gritted teeth, listening to the children bickering.

"Charity, Batman. It is all for a good cause," Red Tornado reminded him.

"Yes, this annual Justice League/Avengers match up has become something of a tradition," Green Lantern pointed out. "The people love it."

"Yeah, it really rakes in the dough," the Flash put in.

"You couldn't have gotten Clark?" Batman frowned. "This public relations business is much more his thing."

"I agree with Batman," Gypsy said, "I am uncomfortable being in spotlight like this."

"So, you go invisible and there you are, out of the spotlight," the Flash pointed out to her. "Come on Bats. Remember the kids."

"Fine," Batman surrendered. "But let's get this over and done with. I have better things to do with my time than to perform like a trained dog act."

Behind Batman's back, Plastic Man took on the shape of a poodle with pointy bat ears balancing on a ball. "And don't think I don't know what you're doing O'Brien," Batman said. Plastic Man popped back into shape sheepishly while Ralph snickered behind his hand.

Hmmmm.....how familiar your team looks. Seriously that's a good troop. I've got my work cut out for me.

A can of spray paint is motioned as the word 'JLA' is xed out in the 'Annual JLA vs. Avengers Charity Event'. An arrow is placed after the word 'Avengers' and 'vs. JLA' is sprayed above it.

"There!" says Hawkeye, "Now they got it right."

"Was that really necessary, Hawkeye?" Wiccan asks.

"Yup," he replies.

Iron Man places a hand on Wiccan's shoulder. "Hawkeye has an...aggressive loyalty to the Avengers. Something he should remember every time he leaves the team."

"Hardy har har."

"The Justice League have an impressive roster facing us," the Vision notes.

"Ummm....they have a guy called Plastic Man and one called Elongated Man? Redundant much, JLA?" jokes Spider-Man.

"Laugh all you wish, Spider-Man," the Scarlet Witch smiles, "Just be ready for them. They're on the move as we speak!".

Welcome back from your vacation. Hope you had a good time. I wish I felt like I could do some good turns here and give them justice, especially in the Seredipity games which have been languishing but honestly, I'm exhausted. I don't think I could deal with the bigger, more complicated games without making some costly mistakes. SI I'll stick with these two tonight and hopefully in the AM tackle some of the others.

Oh heavens, this game's going to be a PC nightmare. Multiple PCers on both sides. This is going to be insane.

"They're coming," Batman warns.

"Perfect! That's just what we want," Plastic Man says, "To tangle them in our web, trap them in our circle, errrr....keep them at arms' length." He contorts with each statement.

Spider-Man lunges in and distracts him with webbing. "And I thought I was hard to keep quiet."

"Now you know how everyone else feels," Photon says using cosmic power to fully stun Plastic Man.

Iron Man's repulsor rays finish the job.

"Good start, Avengers," Batman says, "Now the JLA will finish."

"Green Arrow, keep Iron Man and Photon at a distance while we deal with Spider-Man," Batman told the archer.

"What? You want the guy with the bow and arrows to keep their big guns at bay?" Green Arrow said.

"Ollie could do it," Batman told him.

"Oh, that's harsh," Connor scowled. He loosed a steady stream of arrows at the Avengers to keep them back.

"Roy. On the count of three," Batman continued. "One, two, three." As soon as Batman started counting Roy started moving aroudn the back of the League's formation.

"My Spider-Sense is buzzing like crazy. What a surprise," Spider-Man said. "What was I thinking charging in here all by myself. Oh, that's right. I was thinking that I'd have some back-up." He called out the last two words to his teammates as Bat-Man immobilized him with a bat-line and Red Arrow hit him with a blunted arrow.

Vision boosts Hawkeye's damage to 4. He'll rs to S/T17 attacking Red Tornado his only target. Gimme a 5, rolls 2. Wanda rerolls: 6. Batman: 11. No lof for Ralph. 4 to Reddy.

For what it's worth, Wanda's on the opposite side of a wall and couldn't have used her PC on Hawkeye. As a matter of fact, Hawkeye couldn't get through that wall to get to S/T17 in the first place. He could make the shot from S/T12, and then Wanda could use her PC. That work for you?
