I know many of us wish certain characters were written in certain ways but, in your opinion, which character out there in comic-dom needs either some more respect or a more updated image.
I give you: Aquaman
I will also give you: Wonder Woman
I think both of these characters need an upgrade. I mean, Wonder Woman has been gifted with:
Strength greater than Herakles
Speed greater than Hermes
And a couple more godly powers from Aphrodite, Athena and a couple others (I think). Yet she is considered weaker or less powerful than certain characters like Captain Marvel and Martian Manhunter.
Aquaman...seriously now...this guy is seriously under-powered in the comics. IMO

Is it stated that she has greater strength than Herakles, and greater speed than Hermes? First I've heard of it.
Personally I don't think Aquaman needs any more powers. He has the strength, endurance, and physical resilience to survive the greatest ocean depths, he can swim really fast, and he commands sea life. He is a ferociously good fighter. Depending on when you are reading his exploits, he also commands the resources of an exotically powerful undersea kingdom. Even in stories when he is not a king, he still has commanding leadership skills.
Also: he occasionally stabs people with a trident and in some stories he has had a launching grappling hook hand and in others, a magic-spoiling hand of healing.
When I think of what Samuel L. Jackson had written on his wallet in Pulp Fiction, I think of Aquaman.
...now, if we can just get Professor Pyg confirmed.

Her original stories said that Hermes and Heracles gifted her with speed and strength greater then their's (which was an oddly magnanimous act considering the jealous and selfish nature of the Greek gods.)
That didn't happen in the origin retcon they eventuually did but DC has always insisted that WW was second only to Supes in power. That's hard to reconcile when you have characters like Captain Marvel and Mon-El running around, especially when she seems to need to deflect bullets with her bracelets and they can just let them bounce off.
I don't think Aquaman needs to become more powerful, but he does need some stories written about him that give him more respect. One good storyline where he descisively defeats Dimdork the Verminator; oops I mean Deathstroke the Terminator, ought to do the trick.
I want these clixed: Doc Savage, Fu Manchu, Tarzan, The Shadow, The Green Hornet & Kato, Conan, Solomon Kane, The Phantom, King Kong, Universal Monsters, Black Orchid, Manhunter (Paul Kirk), Xemnu the Titan, unclixed Kirby Fourth World characters, and Lilith, Daughter Of Dracula.

I though Aquaman getting a Beard and becoming Pirate like was enough of an Upgrade....to be honest.
I'd like to see Marvel get an upgrade and eliminate Loeb.
Let's see Aquaman returns as a zombie and has the power to
summon dead fish
Aquaman got a Power Ring
Aquaman and his zombie pals kill Tempest
zombie Aquaman has A POWER RING think about that for a
second
When a charactor gets a Power Ring it's about as big an
upgrade as a charactor can get.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to this.
Yeah, it's not surprising that you (not "you" particular but anyone reading this) didn't know this. People either don't read her stuff or dislike her enough on principle to not give a darn.
But it's true.

Uncool points to you for defaming Slade, the OB (Original Badarse). And Aquaman did soundly thump Slade. In fact Slade commented that he didn't stand a chance in a fight with Orin.

Sorry, not quite a fan of Slade Wilson. His explanation for his powers is weak. Uses 90% of his brain? From my point of view that should give him some Forrest Gump like qualities. Then there's the cold blooded murderer angle. I also don't care for stories where he handles several heroes at once with ease, especially when someone like Eddie Fyers can make a fool of him.
The bottom line is, Deathstroke (like Lobo) should pay for his crimes and they're never going to make him do it.

Ah...I see your point. You obviously haven't gotten the whole story on Slade so I understand your view. Allow me to explain.
Slade was given an experiemental "anti-truth-serum" during the early days of Vietnam (he entered the military at 16 during the Korean War...he has been around a while).
This serum (yes, an obvious rip-off of Cap) did a couple things to him.
1. Removed his conscious. Ya know...he literally can't feel guilt or remorse. He simply does what is required regardless of the outcome (killing or maiming his own kids for example).
2. It physically enhanced him. Kicking in vault doors for example. Being able to (according to a Geoff Johns interview) "keep up with the Flash for the first 10 steps of a race". He has stepped through a huge spinning fan blade that then stopped bullets and laser shots directed at him. And he also stabbed Flash (Wally) and shot Kid-Flash (Bart) in the knee (knee-capping him).
3. It mentally enhanced him to roughly 5-9 times the mentally processing power of the average special forces soldier. This was called the "90% brain power" back in the day...you know, back when it was widely held that humans only used 10-15% of thier brain capacity. While that may still partially be true the intent of this power, per Marv Wolfman (spoke with him at a convention panel about this), was to show that he can mentally process significantly more information than anyone normally can or should be able to. Multi-tasking, calculations, targetting, etc... are all something he finds childplay.
I hope that provides some insight.
The thing I like most about the character is his sense of honor. He is a man of his word more than anything else. He doesn't hold grudges and basically doesn't really care...unless he was tasked (as a job) to care. If you know what I mean.

Really how can you not love Deathstroke especially after the AWESOME job Teen Titans (animated series) did with his charactor. It is not often that a series villain is presented in way that makes him, hated, loved, and respected, but that's what made Slade the glue that holds Teen Titans together as a series.
Cold blooded murder is not honorable (see Phantom Lady) not even if it's "just business". Neither; for that matter, is statutory rape.

See...what you define as "cold blooded" Slade sees as business...no guilt, no remorse, no conscious. When it comes to the enemy "killing" them is what a soldier does. You can't fault a man for doing what he was trained to do...and in this case, paid to do. At least not anymore than any other villain.
As far as Terra goes...what they did after Judas contract (as a retcon of sorts) made her too young...at the time of the writing that wasn't the case.

Tony Soprano thought he was a soldier too. it's a delusion that does NOT give either one a pass.
As far as Terra, you are rationalizing. She was always under age.
