DBauers and Rokk Krinn: "By Order of the House of Un-American Activities Committee...
It is the 1950's and the Red Scare is running rampant through the politics of the United States. Political maneuverings lead to HUAC's demand that the Justice Society of America unmask and put themselves at the service of the government. Declining to do so the JSA goes into hiding.
Per Degaton, seeing opportunity to cause havoc for his foes, reaches through the Bleed and finds a land where the government has decided to employ a group more willing to do their work - the Freedom Force, formerly known as the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants.
Pulling the Freedom Force into the land he notes to the them the relative absence of superheroes which could interfere with their roughshod methods. The head of Freedom Force, Mystique, sees the opportunity offered to her and makes her group's services known to HUAC; in a world where mutants are not feared and the Brotherhood is unknown it takes little to get Freedom Force into the employ of the United States Government.
Surprisingly for Freedom Force though their first mission is not to quell uprisings or fight the Communist threat. Rather they are to bring in the Justice Society of America!
Freedom Force gets its' first lucky break when the gas-masked detective the Sandman infiltrates their headquarters in an attempt to find incriminating documents. Unprepared for the 20th century technology used by Freedom Force he is found out and is soon on the run...but a flightpath with a specific aim. Reaching outside he heads into a field used for wargames and launches a flare. The sorceress Spiral knows instantly that it's no ordinary flare but one developed by the Sandman's knowledge of Tibetan mysticism. Her warning to her team gives them just enough time to prepare as the flare summons the JSA members waiting in the wing - the Spectre, the Hawkman and the original Dr. Mid-Nite.

(I was -this- close to going with the Suicide Squad for Government Villains vs. Government Villains but in the end I think viewing Watchmen last night influenced me a bit. You can set-up and have first move.)

(Speed) Ghostly Guardian: The Spectre can use Charge, Phasing/Teleport, and the Justice Society team ability.
(Damage) Vengeance: Give the Spectre a power action to make a close combat or ranged combat attack, replacing his damage value with the damage value of his target until the action is resolved; the attack is penetrating damage.

After double-checking the giants and LOF rules, I have to become a bit more agressive than I would have liked.
TA) Crimson Commando, either very brave or very crazy, pushes to L/C to F-16
1) Super Sabre HSS to H-15 versus Hawkman. 9 vs 16. Miss. Maneuver to G-14
f) SS perplexes down Hawkman's def to a 15.
f) Mystique plexes up Arachne's AV to a 10
2) Arachne pushes to shoot Hawkman with Stunning Blow. 10 vs 17 (plex -1, ESD). Destiny has LOF for reroll, Sandman doesn't. Misses with a 5, but Destiny PCs it to a (5,5). Hawkman has charge showing before taking damage, so no KB. He takes 3 clix and a token and takes another one for pushing.
rest clear

1) Spectre attempts to Breakaway from Crimson Commando..and rolls a 1. Sandman PC's that to a 4. Spectre Charges to F-12 and makes a Close Combat Attack - Giant Reach - on Spiral: 11 + 2 (Inside Information - forgot this on the roll submittal) = 13 attack versus 16 Defense...and promptly rolls a 4; thank you Inside Information. Destiny PC's that roll to an 8 (assuming she used the PC?). 5 + 3 (Heavy Object) - 1 (Toughness) = 7 clicks and a KO on Spiral.
2) Sandman makes a Ranged Combat Attack on Crimson Commando: 9 attack versus 16 Defense and fortunately rolls 3 + 6 = 9. 2 clicks to Commando.

This should be 3A I think. Eesh, when I saw that 4 I thought for a second that he actually missed.
Oh, and I probably should have said this earlier, but seeing as it was your last move, it wouldn't have mattered. I kind of just assumed Spectre would one-shot Crimson Commando. Since CC only took the 2, he will take the optional KB afforded him by his CR.
3A
f) Super Sabre plexes down HM's def to a 14
f) Mystique turns off stealth and plexes up her own dmg to a 3.
1) Mystique blasts the blocking at G-12
2) Pyro blasts Hawkman with RCE. 7 vs 15. Sandman has no LOF but Destiny does. Miss with a 3, PC is a 7. Frick, that throws a bit of a hitch into my plans.
3) Avalanche barriers in D-13, E-14, F-15, G-16
4) Stonewall to E-9
TA) Destiny to C-10

well, my standing pc instructions were "case-by-case", but Spectre is going to have much better than a 67% chance to hit anyone that you are going to target next, so i would have rerolled the break away. which, i saw, has still succeeded.
