Due to low sign-ups, I am initiating a recuitment contest. Whoever gets the most players to sign-up for this game by Thursday night 8pm CST will get the option of choosing their favorite Discworld character. Death is not a valid option when choosing characters. It can be any character from any book. If the character is from one of the books I haven't read, it would be an extremely good idea to provide a link to some information about the character.
Game will start no matter how many additional sign-ups provided on Friday the 27th of November (the day after Thanksgiving here in the US). The question is, will it be a good small game or a great big game (both in size and quality)?
****Winner will be notified via pm****
Deep in the furthest reaches of space is a world unlike any other. A flat world resting on the backs of four elephants who in turn sit upon the back of a giant turtle, The Great A'Tuin.
And in Anhk-Morpork, the biggest city on the disc, something is happening.
"At last, I have found it," said a dungy old man outside the Mended Drum Tavern. "I can't believe I've found it!"
"What going on here," said an authoritize voice. It belonged to Samuel Vimes, Commander of the City Watch.
The dungy old man quickly hid his hands and their contents behind his back. "Nothing," he said nervously, "nothing at all."
"What's that you got there?" asked Commander Vimes eyeing the man's concealed arms.
"Er..." The dungy man's mouth opened but suddenly he felt something cold and sharp in his chest. Commander Vimes spun around, crossbow drawn and fired in the direction the bolt in the dungy man's chest came from. The assassin's leg took a hit and he fell from his perch on the roof to the mirky street below. Vimes caught up with the assassin and grabbed him by the neck.
"That was pretty clumsy of you," said Vimes, "You missed me by a mile."
"You weren't the target," said the assassin, "I had a contract for that dungy old man." The assassin pulled out a piece of paper outlining his objective. Vimes frowned and released the assassin to tend to his wounds. He wasn't found of the Guild of Assassins, but he couldn't do anything about it.

"I'd found it," said the dungy old man.
YES YOU DID, BUT NOW YOU HAVE LOST IT, said the cloaked man, I TRULY AM SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS.
"Forget about it," said the dungy old man, "at least I won't be around for what's to come. "I'm ready to go I guess, lived a full life. What happens now?"
NOW IT'S TIME FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.
loganspeedo is dead, he was a dungy old man who had found something someone else wanted for some reason. (Neutral)
This is a game based on the Fantasy Books written by Terry Pratchet and may include such characters as Rincewind, Granny Weatherwax, Captain Carrot, Commander Vimes, Lord Vetinari, Cut-Me-Own-Throat Dibbler, and Susan, Death's Grandaughter and some characters from my own imagination that fit in the Discworld theme (most likely depending on number of players). This game will start shortly after Mystery Science Theater 3000/Cheesy Horror Movie Mafia 2 ends and the number of players will determin the number of roles in the game. I'd like to see at least 20 players for this game:
Man.
I've tried to stay out of the Mafia forums, figuring I spend enough time here already.
But this... I cannot resist. I'm in, hope you'll tolerate the fact that I know very little of Mafia games (I think I've played it once... and not online).
Rules for mafia games are posted at the beginning of each mafia thread for the most part. They aren't hard to learn. Plus there is a mafia glossary in the disscusion thread to help with some of the terms the veteran players use.

I am familiar with the basic premise of the game, I just don't know what the metagame is like.
The only time I played I was a villager, and the Mafia ended up winning. I was good at coming up with gruesome ways to lynch people though.
i don't know what this is, but i enjoy your games Logan i'll play :D
Rent The Color of Magic and Hogfather to get an idea of what you will most likely see and if can check out The Last Hero, an illistrated Discworld fable. That'll cover most of the characters that will be in this game.
Death is my favorite character, probably followed by Carrot or Cohen, so I can definitely recommend a book and now movie based on Death taking over as Santa Claus.
Hogfather is a solid book, but Reaperman is my favorite of the series.
"Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad,
He's so bad, he mak'a me mad
Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad
He's a real cad, Un-fun Dad"
I need to get around to seeing Hogfather... All the Death books are great.
My all-round favorite is Interesting Times though. I'd love to play the novice Red Army. Too bad I have only read it in Swedish though - I guess you guys wouldn't understand if I shouted 'Lägligt frånfälle åt förtryckarna!'
Oh, and the Nac Mac Feegle books are great too. They are a little bit easier - all you need to do is shout 'Crivens!'
