It occurs to me that prior to Nov 2008, there were many good pieces of Cardboard that were never reprinted. Usually this occured to me while looking at an umpteenth reprinting of the Ordinary Day BFC, or some needlessly complicated feat that had really weird prerequisites.
Anywho, what are some of the classic cardboard you would like to see reprinted? Keep in mind: reprinting the cardboard allows for "errata" and/or tweaks to be added.
Here are some off the top of my head:
BFC Bright Lights. The game has cycled back to always having to design a team to either ignore Stealth or quickly base stealth (e.g. TK, HSS). Let's get this back in the rotation. It isn't as if there aren't many keyword teams that can "ignore" it anyway
Legacy had several I'd like to see reprinted: Armor Piercing, Damage Shield, ICwO could use a rules tweak or two. Trick Shot has a place in the meta-game.
Icons has Submerged, Swingline.
It would be nice to see the GLC's Construct more widely available.
Fantastic Four is barely (ab)usable in the modern game, especially considering the modern dials of the F4. It has the nice feature that it can *really* make older figures stand a chance in a modern game.
Thunderbolts needs a fix. I prefer eliminating "sideboarding" TAs, others prefer a keyword fix. Whatever, fix it.
Locally, Camouflage is seeing a comeback, why not reprint it?
I'm one of the ones who would like to see Thunderbolts tagged to a keyword. But if they do switch it, I hope they can find a new alternate TA feat for Avengers. AP would be a good remake, Bright Lights, Damage Shield, and Swingline would be cool to see too.
To the list I would add Lucky Break, Heightened Reflexes, Repulser Shield, Force Field and Pounce.
I'm fine with the SI version of Camouflage though.
When calculator was going to be in AA I hoped we would see a ICWO type of card for him. I like the idea of things being reprinted if only to give people a chance to get one they missed the first time around. Trick shot and armor piercing are a couple that I think should be released every so many sets. Can't think of anything else off the top of my head. I'll try and come back later.
If I was fixing T-Bolts, I would force the player to choose one TA to use for the entire tournament. Everyone else has to build their team BEFORE the matches...T-Bolts get to build theirs DURING.
I say let BFCs go the way of the Dodo. More often than not people forget they're even in play. That is, when they don't get thrown out by Theme nerfing.
Unfortunately there are a lot of FCs which should stay out of print for balancing issues. Meta-game be damned, having a piece of cardboard tip the scales is ridiculous. Here are some of the cards I feel should be reprinted though:
Armor Piercing - An all around useful and necessary card. Maybe they could reword it to require an attack so LAMP isn't an issue.
Automatic Regeneration - The only thing which makes Regen a viable power short of changing the power itself.
Shake Off - Mini Poison for Giants.
Double Time - Great for getting into the thick of it at a cost.
Unstoppable - Makes good use of Super Strength.
Side Kick - Useful but just restrictive enough.
Life Model Decoy - Un-bypassable damage reduction.
Mental Shields - For veteran MC'ers.
Dissent - TA's should be fair game for Outwit too.
My opinion of the Fantastic Four ATA depends on what NECA!WK decides to do about retirement.
I agree with you on Thunderbolts; the TA should be determined during the initial team building. I understand why some might want the keyword restriction, but having an Avengers ATA called "Thunderbolts" doesn't bother me any more than having Alpha Flight and Thunderbolts given the Avengers TA to begin with.
One big fix I'd want for ATAs would be to change the rules for Wildcards back -- letting them copy ATAs -- while adding a "this ability can not be copied" restriction to Fantastic Four and Thunderbolts with their reprint.
I'd be all for the Feats and BFC that were released in some exclusive format -- Tournament Prizes, Collector Set pack-ins, etc. -- being re-released as standard booster pack-ins after a reasonable period of exclusivity. If NECA!WK does continue with retirement, then the perfect route would be to reissue those cards in boosters at the same time the originals would pass from the scene.
I dunno, I think I'll have to disagree on ICwO and Thunderbolts. I think they're okay to be left alone in unrestricted-land rather than reprinting them specifically to nerf them.
On the other hand, I'd love to see Divebomb see a reprint to fix it post-soaring, as was done with Vendetta, and to a lesser extent Look! Up in the Sky! and Telekinetic Reach. I'd include Giant Stride here if they hadn't given one of the giants' abilities the exact same name.
I'd leave Fantastic Four out as well. It's true that it's not as abuseable without a 19-defense Sue Storm hanging around, but it still does actively encourage turtling with a high-defense figure. That just seems like a bad thing to me, regardless of how powerful it ends up being. And I like to see the regular FF team ability finally getting used.
I can get on board with the rest of the original post. Other things that I think are due for a reprint:
Astral Plane Nanoarmor (in a regular set) Force Field Unstoppable Vault (the original cheap point-filler feat) Stunning Blow (last reprinted in Avengers, but due for a repeat soon enough) Stepladder (if 2D special objects ever see a return)
One big fix I'd want for ATAs would be to change the rules for Wildcards back -- letting them copy ATAs -- while adding a "this ability can not be copied" restriction to Fantastic Four and Thunderbolts with their reprint.
I'd be against this unless it included the caveat "this ability can not be copied unless this character shares a keyword with the Wildcard".
Its not Black Panther or Luke Cage's fault WizKids was short-sighted enough to not make them with the correct team abilities and there is no reason either piece should not benefit from being on a comic-accurate team-up.
Visible Dials and Pushing Damage need to be optional. This is the way.
Why are folks busting my chops about "Camouflage" and then mentioning "Unstoppable"? (J/K, There are still feats and objects I don't have from the CURSR sets, so I understand how easy they may be to miss!)
Aside from ATAs, feats and BFCs can be (re)printed without having to clear it with a licensee...so I hold out hope that NECA/WK will try to make a "fast buck" by issuing a set of such reprints as a pack with a reasonable cost. Such a pack would be strictly hobby shop/mail order, but I'd be sure to buy at least one.

Hehe. While I didn't say anything about Camouflage, I probably would have edited out Unstoppable had the Units section not stopped working when I went to check on its last printing.
When this character is given a move action that begins on the edge of elevated terrain and would end on non-elevated terrain, after ending its movement, give it a close combat attack as a free action. Modify its attack value by +1 for the attack. After resolving the attack, remove this Divebomb from the game.
Fantastic Four (ATA) (0)
Pre: Fantastic Four team symbol or keyword.
When a friendly member of this team would be KOd, place a Reserve token on this card. When this card has 3 Reserve tokens, remove all Reserve tokens from this card and give a friendly member of this team that is on the battlefield up to 4 clicks of healing, or 1 click of healing to up to 4 friendly members of this team on the battlefield.
