Hey guys, I don't tend to start new topics often but I just posted a question about this on the Wizkids facebook and wondered what everyone thought.

Personally, I'm suprised there are no unofficial apps for clix yet. I would love to see a stat database/ army builder app. I'd be great if it was official but the guys over at WK are probably too busy for that right now. I wonder if a 3rd party could come out with a free app that isn't official without getting a legal beatdown from NECA.

So, what do you think? What would you like to see in an app and do you know anyone with the ability to make said app?

I'd love to see a BattlePlanner type app for the iPod/iPhone. Not only would it be useful for teambuilding it would also be useful during tournaments to refer to dials, special powers, etc. In fact, it'd be great to have an app that could handle tournament results and pairings as well. I'm sure it COULD be done but I'm not sure it'd be worth it to the person doing it because it would probably take a decent amount of time.

I'd love it. My daily drive to the office is about 45 minutes to an hour - one way. I need something to do to kill the time. Playing 'clix on my phone would be the best way possible to while away the drive time.

Need answers to these questions? There's an app for that.

Seriously though, I don't see why this couldn't happen. I mean you have programs that do that already for PC's. Its just a small step over to get it as an app. I don't have an iphone myself, but I do know players who own iphones (or similar phones) that would love to get an app like this.

If you're going to do this WHILE driving, please let the rest of us know which road(s) you take so we may avoid them. :P

Warmachine players have iBodger, which isn't bad. I'd love to be able to check character cards quickly without having to mess with the Safari browser on my phone.

Yeah, there's probably all sorts of legal hoops that a developer would have to jump through.

The problem really isn't Wizkids and NECA. Companies are typically happy to see innovative software that helps promote their games and bottom line.

Then do like Battle Planner has done. Make the App a piece of software you charge for. Make the modules for it free though.

Just make sure not to use it while driving here in Ontario-the province just instituted a ban on cell phone use while operating an automobile (you can use it on speakerphone or get a Blue Tooth, however). If you do, you're looking at a $500 fine.

I wish there were marvel and DC apps. Besides it'll only help to promote their comics. Why would they be against it.
