Skimmed it in the store and didn't see Mera at all.
Excellent! I really didn't want to buy another BN crossover - I have been less than enthusiastic about the ones I have bought. If Mera isn't intimately involved, then I can happily skip this one.
...now, if we can just get Professor Pyg confirmed.
Well, someone has saved me some trouble this week.
You snooze, you lose.
Batman Confidential
Jonah Hex
JSA All-Stars
It'll be my last issues of the first two, since BC completes the 3-issue Lady Blackhawk story arc, and Jonah Hex is a kind of epilogue to "Six Gun War"
JSA All-Stars is one I'm going to try, but I have a bad feeling that it's going to be "the suck" because of the team makeup. They have 3-4 issues to sell me on the idea of a split team.

Eh, the reviews for this week didn't come out in time. And by the time they did, this and the Marvel thread were already up and running. So, as I said, it saves me the trouble.

www.comixology.com had this week's stuff listed for quite a while. For future reference.

...I lost out on getting Jonah Hex #50. Both shops in my town were out by the time I had a chance to get there (I literally watched a guy grab the last one). I will have to wait until they can get reorders in.
I also forgot to get JSA All-Stars.
So, here's my review for the one new DCU title that I did get this week.
The Great Ten #2 - 5 out of 5 "There are no words to describe it, Perfect Physician. Colors without name, structures beyond comprehension. I wept when I saw it and I knew it was sacrilege that I was even there at all."
Riddle me this: When is the worst time for a member of an officially-sanctioned team of Chinese super-functionaries to rediscover his spirituality? Answer: when his team is supposed to be defending his country and government from an attack by the ancient gods he worships. Why read comics that settle for simply having one point of tension when you can read The Great Ten? Here we have the tension between a tyrannical government and the noble heroes it employs to enforce its will. Here we have the tension between conservative and formerly(?) radical elements within that same team. Here we also have the tension between a culturally-repressive regime and the ancient embodiments of that said culture. With all that going on, you would think it unlikely that the same comic could tell an origin story right in the middle without it being awkward, but the Great Ten does just that. Each origin told thus far doesn't just come off as fanboy informational text, but as another pillar to support the themes as they unfold in this story. McDaniel and Owens show once again that they know how to interpret a sophisticated script with zest and emotion. This is a really, really good comic.

Well, you should've smacked the guy in the back of teh head, grabbed the book and raced out of there.
Or, offer the guy your services as a prostitute in exchange for the book.
Or, get near the guy, then point towards some other aisle and then yell out, "Look, look, it's Max Fortune and Lindsey Lohan's mother together at last", then when the guy looks, you grab the book and run.
