there most assuredly is a reason to play him batarang. how can you have a james brown themed team without a skull brother #1 to accompany the hardest working ant-man in show business?
Yeah batarang....relatively cheap robot/scientist with some damage reduction, perplex and plasticity...and solid starting attack...nope no reason at all.
Why are most people so myopic about this game.
"I love man for all the potential that he holds, and hate men for how seldom they live up to it"
I'd probably play the common if I wanted a bi-beast, but a robot-scientist, with plasticity too, is just screaming to be used as a metal men mod. It might become the new dial of choice for copper, or some other metal man- there were dozens throughout the course of the original run.

I gave him a 60%, and the myopic Mr. Spider-Dave gave him a 50% ;). This character simply doesn't work. Three 8 attack values mid dial, on a 75 pointer, belong in the pre-2007 era. This is 2010, and vicious characters, like SI Gamora, Iron Fist, JL Green Arrow, and Batman eat characters like this alive. Competitive figures win, and he is not one of them.
The robot/ scientist keywords are great. Finally another piece for will/plat to use roboticist on. Four clicks of perplex and three of ew are pretty cool. He can bust through imperv on every one of his clix, not to mention five clicks of damage reducers. Three clicks of 17 and one of 18 def are just icing on the cake. Keep him back to perplex until your other people have whittled down the opposition then send him in to tie up people with his plasticity and good defense while perplexing down their def or dmg. Not uber competitive I'll admit, but still super fun to play.

Ah! Please do make some suggestions for metal men mods! Which would be the best to use this one for?
He's been useful every single time i've used him.
A tough harassing perplexer. Build a team that forces opponents to ignore him for more immediate threats.
Most people leave him alone in the beginning cause he has no move and attack, but move in slowly, push to his 2nd click and base a character who would have trouble dealing with an 18 def (or perplexed to 19) and see how long it takes to get rid of him. Watch your opponents complain. If you place him in hindering and base a flyer it will be even more effective. 4 clicks of perplex surprises people as well and always comes in handy. Doesn't matter if he gets taken down if you are forcing the opponent to deal with this ugly brown fool while getting slammed/shot at by your main attackers.
Just plainly a great decoy. Nobody sees him coming up, not with 0 range and no Move/Attack but once he gets up in the grills...nobody's leaving. Perplex up Defense, hold them down with Plasticity, this pair is just going to go out to town on the opposition. The healthy dose of Perplex is just awesome, boosting up your force to begin with and then supporting himself once he mixes it up. Lovin' this!

he played well, but didn't do anything spectacular. certainly worthy of his point cost, but dont expect him to be a primary attacker as his toughness and lack of move/attack abilities will certainly stand out in that roll. but a secondary attacker/supporter role he will fill nicely.
