I love the old school costumes and the detail of the sculpt (especially Loki holding a sword and that dagger...wait a minute, what's he doing with that dagger near Thor's back?!). The beef with the sculpt is the horrible and plain paint job so I repainted mine with shiny and deeper colors that really make it look like a piece of art, as it was meant to be. The dial is very cool simply because of all the options (just keeping up with them all is a game in itself every round). The thing that bugs me is that Running Shot/Battle Fury cross over section. I can buy that it represents Loki stabbing Thor in the back and perhaps limiting their options or Thor going into absolute battle mode but mechanically, it's clunky and actually cost me a match when I used the duo. Other than that, this duo is an absolute beast and fantastic representation!
A complete and utter juggernaut, worth every point!
He won me a Thor The Reigning in a 500p draft today, making mincemeat of Ultron, Thors and a hypersonic team. (He was supported by Captain America and Rocket Raccon).
He needs a bit of support, preferably some probability control or a bit of TK, so 500 points are about the smallest team I would field him in.
And the gallery is wrong insofar as he has both Avengers and Mystics Team Ability.
(5 for dial and comic accuracy, small deduction on the sculpt for a bit garish colors, and for playability, due to him only being competative in >500p teams)
I'm not entirely sure why everyone loves this figure. 365 points of ok duoness. His powers are kind of strange (which I realise is because they come from thor an loki.) I don't like that he has all white boxes. The only thing that might scare me about this figure his his invuln trait. Thats really the only thing keeping him alive for me. Now granted this is all form speculation. I dont own him, but I would rather have Superman Prime+Fort. Thats anotehr shortcoming of this character is that you cant fort him. Hes a duo fig so that feat is out for him. Outwit his face off. Also the combination of battlefury and running shot confuses and angers me. Theres better ways to spend 365 points.

Granted, the Invuln. is a Trait so they have it on their entire dial and it can't be outwitted. Definitely a plus.
With a ranged duo attack he can do 11 damage at 10 range... (using his perplex on his own damage) And with the invul being a trait you can use those points usually spent on fortitude on some tricks instead: T-bolt+Immortal Contept+Sidestep+Inside Info+Camouflage+Pym Particles = 405 points. Good luck trying to shoot him... either he's camouflaged or get +1 defense from pym particles. He has either +1 or +2 attack bonus on anyone who has not got "cosmic" keyword, can reposition between two duo-attacks, and if you hurt him he deals you two unpreventable damage.
They're an ACTUALLY PLAYABLE one man army (well, kind of two)! Feat these suckers up with Camouflage, Thunderbolts, and Sidestep, Immortal Contempt, and Inside Information and they can get through entire games unharmed, and even if they do your opponent is looking at a possible two points of feedback per hit on a dial of permanent Invulnerability. And unlike other big fatsos (cough Odin) they don't get stuck with an 8 range. Loses comics accuracy points, like most duos, for being easier to take down than the sum of it's parts, but then regains them for that delightful "Loki stabbing Thor in the back" Battle Fury special power.

Not a bad fig. I played againist one and had the dice gods jinxed me a couple times, I would not have one. My opponient played this duo well but my brick(av Ares) w/ taxi/pc (av ULT Scarlet Witch)combo, as well as Penance. Ares was feated with fortitude and Thunderbolted to Ultimates team ability. Thor/ Loki was equipped with Thunderbolted to Batman, had inside info, and something else. I gave the fig high marks for comic accuracy and sculpt, but it lost some points for the dial to cost ratio and playability.
The only thing I don't like about this figure? The sculpt. Other than that, it's a great figure. I was able to play mine for the first time tonight. Granted it was a large point game (2000 points) but this figure (properly feated) is a beast. I used: Brilliant Tactician, Immortal Contempt, Camouflage and Thunderbolts. They went untouched. The only Damage they took was from a Critical Miss late in the game. I have to say, that before I used this figure I was not a fan of duos, but this figure is insane using the duo attack. Between their Perplex, and Enchantress using her Perplex, I was dishing out 11-13 clicks of Damage 2 out of every 3 rounds. Crazy. The rounds that I wasn't attacking, my Defense was Perplexed up to 19. (plus the Desk for a 21) Sure they are expensive, but they are worth every single one of those points if used properly.
Trade to Canada. We're friendly, and we love Beavers..........
Had the chance to use this today in my first game in months. I was pleasantly surprised throughout the game. We were playing 600 points and with an Asgardian Warrior and Gharskygt backing them up they were dishing out tons of damage and took little damage for much of the game. I ended up losing at the very end in a three person game, but that was my own fault. It had been so long since I played that I kept forgetting about the duo attack. Had I bothered to use it I think I would have totally dominated. I hope to use them again in the future so that I can use the Duo Attack, and feat them up a bit more with Thunderbolts at the very least. If I had one complaint, it would be all of the Battle Fury that kept me from being able to shoot at figures from a distance. Still, all of the powers and the duo attack make these guys a really tough team to take on when they're well supported and used properly.
Give them Camafluge and Thunderbolts feat cards. Then chose crossgen from indy. Then give them Damage sheild and side step. They will take 3 damage in CC and 2 if they shoot you. Also when you make a Duel attack you can move 4 spaces. 400 points of Pain.
Second time using them. Used Camouflage, Pym Particles and Damage Shield. Only damage the duo ever took in 3 games was from a Crit. Miss. By far one of my most favored pieces to come from HoT.
