This came up in a game last night.

I had both armor piercing and damage shield on a character.

Now, when AP is assigned at the same time as damage shield, that makes the 1 damage received from damage shield unavoidable, right?

The question came up because the damage was from a feat card and not the character's dial.

Someone might correct me, but I would say based on wording, the answer is no.

Armor piercing states damage from the character can't be reduced below 1. Damage Shield is the feat dealing damage, not the character.

Damage from Damage Shield can be used with Armor Piercing to make it unreduceable. This thread should clarify:

AP would prevent the damage dealt from Damage Shield from being reduced, yes.

However, the damage is not unavoidable. "Unavoidable" is a specific game term and AP does not have anything to do with that term.

Nitpicky, maybe, but pretend for a second that there is some BFC that reduces unvaoidable damage, increases it, or otherwise keys off of that term. AP will not be affected by this theoretical BFC.

Not even hypothetical, if it were unavoidabe, you could not use Mastermind.
