Okay. I know I'm going to get blasted for this but I have to ask...
I just got a shipment of singles from Troll and Toad and the dials seem a little stiff. Is there any trick to consistently clicking the figures without like... Winding up between some values? Some of them rotate well while others are a huge pain.
Do they just sort of need to be used a few times or what?
if you mean that they dont turn very well and youre afraid of breaking the figure off then heres my solution. get a small knife and gently pop the dial off, then find the little notch on the bottom click, its usually at the green line. gently shave off a small part of the notch and reattach the click. try it on some older useless clicks before goin to work on the good ones. hope this helps.
also if the clicks are actually off center, you may want to pull the dial off and re stick it to the base, a lot of times i have done this without any problems, however sometimes a dab of glue is needed. Also as crazymike mentioned shaving the plastic tab, sometimes with the older sets you can put a turn ring on the dial and spin it a few times all the way around and it will be good to go. Hope this helps.

Thank you for bearing with me through this.
If any are from the Avengers set, the turning H on the dial bottom is VERY shallow and is hard to turn or even grip
I popped out dials from modded figs bases (cannibalized) and stuck the sticker on that instead and, woila, easy turning city
I got some cubes with a bunch of spots on 'em in my starter. What are they?
When we are playing, the other players keep saying they have to roll some dice. Is this some kind of euphemism for committing an armed robbery? Should I call the police?
Some of the dials are very tight. Avengers seem to have this problem more than any set and I've had some figures that I never could turn with just my hands.
A few years ago I was at DragonCon and someone showed me this trick. It works like a charm and with it I've never met a figure I couldn't turn. All you do is take some poster putty and put it on top of your clix ring. Then use that ring to turn your figures. The putty helps to cling to the bottom of the base and you can turn it with ease.
I've heard that popping the bottoms of the dials off works, but for me I'd NEVER EVER do that. There's too much risk to break the figure or cause damage to it. Using poster putty that costs 1.00 works like a charm and in no way endangers the figure.
It's like Michael Jordan going to the YMCA to play basketball.
Welcome Charlie (Charles William Cook)! Born 7/14/2011!
I've popped bottoms off dozens of figures in order to shave a little and make them turn and never damaged anything. The first one I did it with was Ultimates Magneto, whom I really wanted to play, but the darn dial just wouldn't turn. Did it with a bunch of high-end figures since then too and I'm glad I did.
