What are your top 5 characters that you feel still have not been made right
I think the title says it all, but just to clarify, What figures do you think are bad representations of characters from the comics?
Which 5 would you wish had a definitive version that you can happily go to when you have the urge to field that character on your team?
I'll start off with my opinions here:
1) Machine Man - after reading Nextwave Agents of H.A.T.E., Ms Marvel and Marvel Zombies 3, I really want to see a Machine Man who can really kick ### and take names (BCF, Strength, Move and Attack powers, etc).
2) Spider-Man - I have a feeling this character will be on a lot of lists. I still feel we have not gotten a Spider-Man that really captures the look and feel of the modern day wall crawler. Give him a trait for leap climb and then go to town with special powers (using Spider-Girl as the template of how Spider-Man SHOULD be).
3) Firestorm (Ronnie Raymond) - With the advent of Special Powers I think Ronnie is due a good figure/dial that does not suffer from the classic "one hit and he's worthless" days of the past. I always envisioned him as having a special power that allows him to transmute debris tokens into light object tokens and light object tokens into heavy object tokens (or vice versa). Running shot, Barrier and ranged combat expert are probably spot on as well (and nice stats for attack and damage but not too heavy).
4) The Flash - it really irks me that the best special power that best fits the flash and what he can do is found on a character that is not The Flash.....it's ZOOM!
I'LLMAAAAKEYOUBETTTTTERRR: Zoom can use Hypersonic Speed. He can use it normally, or instead of making a close combat attack he can use Flurry; Zoom can continue the rest of his movement (if any) after using Flurry, but he can not move between making attacks using Flurry
THIS is the power that a version of THE FLASH SHOULD have!!
Coupled with the fact that we still haven't gotten a decent figure of Barry Allen (he has a Starfish Face or he's dying) makes this character ripe for an ultimate version!
5) Cyclops - if there is a character that has not really seen a good solid remake or even a good solid comic accurate version in this game...it's got to be Cyclops. Heck, I'm not even a big fan of the X-Men and I realize that this game has not really given him a dial that really captures what Cyclops can do. Update his sculpt to the Astonishing version too!!
Honorable Mentions:
Green Lantern - certainly not because I'm a fan I tried to remain as unbiased as possible, but I have to admit that with the addition of Indomitable to the abilities in this game I think Green Lanterns should have it from here on out as well as a few clix of running shot, not just one, (I don't see Green Lanterns standing still in space....unless their dead).
Sharpshooter should be included on SOME of them (like John Stewart) as the ring can search out a target by more than just sight alone.
Wolverine - I know some people are tired of him, but I would really like to see a modern day version with Special powers that nail him good one final time. Give him a trait that grants him automatic regeneration, give him charge and flurry or charge and blades. He should be a figure that sticks around and is not EASY to KO (easy to hit..yes, but not KO) Give him the Astonishing X-Men costume and let people rejoice (then we don't have to see him for awhile).
I look forward to what others have to share
I'm going to hit him really, really hard with a big green boxing glove............ I'm kidding. - Hal Jordan
1. Taskmaster needs a clix with good special powers
2. Martian Manhunter could use a new figure(hopefully the one we're getting in BatB is good.)
3. The Red Skull doesn't have a really competitive figure in the game.
4. Aquaman needs a new figure with a trait that grants him mind control with a range of 8 on all figures with the dolphin symbol or Atlantis keyword.
5. Green Lanterns need indomitable.
1. Put me down for The Hulk, I'm still waiting for a classic no gimmick Hulk that can throw down with the other powerhouses.
2. Aquaman - The new Black Manta is pretty good, we need an Aquaman that shines.
3. The Puppet Master- This guy got shafted worse then any other character that's ever been clixed.
4. Shang Chi - This guy triggered the martial arts craze in comics. He should have a smokin' dial that makes the other M.A.s quiver in fear.
5. Kazar - Catman stole his whole schtick. Kazar needs a dial that allows him to totally punk out Catman.
I want these clixed: Doc Savage, Fu Manchu, Tarzan, The Shadow, The Green Hornet & Kato, Conan, Solomon Kane, The Phantom, King Kong, Universal Monsters, Black Orchid, Manhunter (Paul Kirk), Xemnu the Titan, unclixed Kirby Fourth World characters, and Lilith, Daughter Of Dracula.
1. Wolverine (Duh!)
2. Superman- needs that ice breath
3. Cyclops- same reasons that were already stated in this and other threads
4. Blob- they never came close the first time
5. Batman- wait before you say any thing, all current incarnations are cool and almost there but, where's the powers that reflect his utility belt (a combo of Leap/Climb, Smoke Cloud, INCAPACITAE!!!!!) and his brain (Outwit/Perplex combo anyone)
Darkhawk - I like what we got, but I'm really hoping to see an Experienced version one day (I'd actually rather not see a "Vet" in his current nonsensical form). He was able to blow up an Ultron.
Nova - With Worldmind. Need I say more?
Power Girl - She's Kryptonian.
Alan Scott - The Rookie is great... then what happened?
Brainiac - Deadlier than HoT Ultron, please.
"We're all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars." -Wilde
Black Widow. Needs Stealth, Running Shot and Leap/Climb. Kinda like M+M Gambit, actually.
Aquaman. The JL Starro versions come close to a Rookie-level king of Atlantis, but there needs to be one with pretty much every water-based SP seen in the game so far.
Cyclops. Sharpshooter, Leadership, and an astonishing sculpt.
Wolverine. Needs a definitive version at last, like Batman's gotten freakin' 4 times already.
Spider-Man. Also needs a definitive version as opposed to near-misses like Iron Spider (great but just a blip in his history), SI McSpidey (cheap, effective but not comprehensive), V BlackSuit Spidey (fine top-dial, sorry late-dial) or Spider-Girl (right dial, mostly. Wrong gender, totally )
God is smarter than we are....
Visit Heroclixin'! Or check out my trade thread. Molly Hayes' KO list: HoT Ultron, HoT Thor, SI Iron Man, AV Wonder Man, SI Sentry, LE Diana Prince, R IC Ultron, Pretty Boy, CW Kang, IIM Thunderball, TW Catwoman, OP Red Hulk.
1 magneto special powers please
2 most of the characters from weapon x might make a good starter or (i hate to say it) chase
3 cable he fought the silver surfer and repaired everything they destroyed WHILE fighting him
Game designers seem intent on flooding his dial with the ability to copy other character's powers. What makes him scary is the ability to suck the life out of you He should have Invulnerability, not because he's copying it, but because he's that much harder for you to hurt as he saps your energy away. IMO the perfect substitute dial for Parasite is Zombie Hulk's. Flurry, and Steal Energy are perfect for this monster. A lot of poison, the Suicide Squad TA and a Wildcard Trait that lets him copy opposing TAs (think: Siphon Power) would be perfect.
Rogue is a close second, though again, they really need to iron out her power set. Here's a way to deal her power justice - make it work similar to ICWO. When Rogue KO's an opposing figure, heal the figure to its top click and remove it from the board putting that figure on Rogue's character card. Rogue can use any of the standard or named powers showing on that dial. At the beginning of every turn, click the KO'd figure's dial once. When the figure is KO'd remove it from Rogue's character card and give it back to the owner.
Also from Hypertime: The KEY. The guy should look more like AA Despero in terms of powers. A neat sculpt with a sad dial.
Hulk deserves a 270+ point, avengers TA housewrecker. The design team was on the right track with Avengers ULT Hulk regarding the MoE TA. I want a one man army Hulk that can push to attack every round and has some of the Charge/Flurry goodness of Namor. Green Scar comes close, but the name on the dial, and the sculpt leave lots to be desired. It's not a bad sculpt, it's just not Hulk.
Aquaman rounds out my list. We have like 9 versions of this figure, and all under 100 points. We deserve at least ONE heavy hitting version of Aquaman (maybe an SP like Thor Frogs crocodiles!).

Sacrilage! You failed to mention Jack Knight Starman!

Read my Heroclix articles
1- The Unstoppable Juggernaut: It's in the name. He can't be stopped. He's my favorite villain since I was like 5 years old.
2- Nightcrawler: My favorite X-Man. Hands down the blue elf is one of my favorite comic book characters of all time.
3- Cyclops: He's in dire need of true representation of the greatest X-man of all freakin time.
4- Superboy-Prime: Yeah. I said it. Deal with it. lol
5- I sadly have to admit. . . Wolverine. I can't say I've read a comic book involving Wolverine in. . . maybe a decade. Yeah, probably when I was 13 and grew up. However, there's still the kid in me that's not satisfied with his representation in Heroclix.
1) Blob - we've gotten usable figures, but never gotten one that even comes close to what Blob should be like. He needs a SP that keeps him from being moved, he needs better damage reducers and a longer dial, he needs Super Strength and Quake (Belly Flop!).
2) Solomon Grundy - Other than Mastermind fodder, he's pretty worthless, and the remake was a disappointment.
3) Power Girl - We need one that is closer to the last couple of good Supergirls we've gotten. It would be nice to have a useful Power Girl as an option for our JSA teams!
4) Changeling/Beast Boy - Really needs an SP to represent his shapechanging. The SP could be multiple powers in a single slot to give options to represent different forms...it doesn't have to be overly complicated.
5) Weather Wizard - It would be nice to have one that is less of a joke. No remake since Hypertime is generally bad news for a character, and the Weather Wizard is this concept's power child. Even the Vet was mediocre for the time, and he doesn't stack up at all to today's dials. The Rogues could definitely use a more definitive Weather Wizard.
Honorable Mentions:
a) Taskmaster - I'd actually not mind the last version we got, if he was about 40 pts cheaper. I also hate self-damaging powers...I'd prefer if it was a simple die roll to copy the abilities of uber-powrful figures, or something. Still, I'd probably use him at 100 pts. I think the original REV was useful, but didn't represent the character as well as it could have.
b) Lex in Battlesuit - I LOVE the Justice League version of Lex, but my favorite Luthor appearances from the comics are when he's in his Battlesuit. We don't have a version that can stand toe-to-toe with a Superman of the same points value and give him a good fight. If the Icons version didn't have one of the old school - "take a hit and drop like a stone" dial setups, and a little more move and attack, he'd be great at that point value. Keep his values more steady, maybe even give him a mid- or late-dial upswing, give him more clicks of Charge and RS, drop the stupidly expensive SE TA and add some clicks of Outwit and Perplex, and I'd even pay a few MORE points for him!
c) Brainiac - The skeletal robot body one isn't terrible, but it's mostly good for Nova Blasting...we need a definitive version that represents one of Superman's most powerful enemies. The one we have previewed for the upcoming Brave and the Bold set isn't going to cut it...we need the Silver Age Brainiac (with proper keywords!).
d) Cyborg - the Unleashed Vet actually wasn't terrible for the points at the time, but he needs a facelift to bring him in line with the newer dial-building paradigm. The Icons remake was just a disappointment and a waste of a set slot - higher cost for a dial that isn't better, and a sculpt that is FAR worse.
e) Parasite - The revision we got in Justice League was actually a noble attempt IMO, but he's one of my favorite Superman Enemies, and he still leaves much to be desired. If he had 2 damage all down the dial, with Exploit Weakness (he only has to touch you!), and an SP that gave him a target's powers (maybe limited by the Armor and Robot keywords?) when Parasite successfully *damages* them, and a bit of Drain Life after the first click, that would be a lot closer to the character in the comics!
f) Barry Allen Flash - That I'd always rather use Zoom (and it's not even close) is disappointing. That his best dials have sculpts with starfish faces or dessicated corpses just makes the situation worse. Can we get a good Barry, please? The Jay Garrick remake is stellar (once you mod him to take him off the treadmill)...seems like it's not impossible to give us good speedster...can we get Barry, please?

CarlosMucha: that is like be running in a Olimpic race competition just one step to get the gold and then a Giant children place a mirror in your side and you discover what you are really a hamster over a whell and the gold is just a slice of chess. Avatar Summoning: Original GotG, Melter, Whiplash
Aw heck, forgot about Power Girl. Guess I gotta drop her in at my #5 and move one of the boys down to the "Honorable Mentions" list...we need a new Power Girl that is closer to the good Supergirls we've gotten (a new Mary Marvel would also be nice!).
