Arachnos: Turn 1

"And so, it begins!" Lord Recluse intones as the bright flash of the Destiny Portal fades, disgorging the unquestioned Lord of the Rogues' Isles into a brave new world, ripe for conquest. "One small step for a lesser man, but one that shall echo down the ages as the day the very Multiverse itself learned to cower in fear at the mere mention of Arachnos!"

Forming up behind him, his lieutenants and attendants establish a quick perimeter, watchful eyes scanning their watery surroundings

"Hhhh... I smell prey.. close by" Mako remarks revealing rows of wickedly serrated teeth as he smiles a predatory grin.

"The beast is right my Lord" Ghost Widow coldly comments. "I sense the presence of powerful souls, determined to stand against our intrusion... at their folly"

"My Lord" Kalinda suddenly speaks up in a subdued, respectful voice. "Scirocco reports great progress on the task you delegated to him and his apprentice. They have reached their goal successfully and have opened negotiations with the self-styled "Emperor" as you commanded.

With a curt nod, Recluse acknowledges the report and turns his attention to the battle awaiting ahead.

"Excellent, my plan proceeds as foreseen. Now show these doomed fools the fate of those who oppose Arachnos, and the Will of Recluse!"

free) "Forward, as your Lord commands!" Recluse shouts, signalling the beginning of his grand conquest. Lord Recluse rolls for leadership, roll is: 5 and he gets it!

1) Recluse himself strides through the water, spidery arms snatching up a half-submerged chunk of masonry as he passes. Recluse moves to R11 picking up a HO along the way.

2) Feeling entirely in his element, Mako vanishes cuts through the water with silent, graceful speed betraying the savage bloodshed he intends to unleash. Mako moves to O11

3) "You heard our lord and Master, brute. Come then, unless you fear my embrace more than you fear his wrath?" Ghost Widow whispers at the Scorpion in a mocking tone. Ernesto merely growls in response, throwing the ghostly apparition a baleful glare with his cybernetic eye before allowing her to teleport them both ahead. Widow teleports to Q13, placing Scorpion in O12

4) "Your victory today is clear and imminent my lord, the vision of your triumph is clear in my mind!" Kalinda focuses her mental power and teleports in a flash of light, moving to S9

free) Barracuda follows her mentors example and glides effortlessly through the cold water, following in his wake. Barracuda perplexes her own movement up to 7

5) Barracuda moves to S12

Kalinda will at all times, if it is possible copy Arachnos when attacked by an opposing figure

"Ok, listen up. Summers sent us here to find and stop a group of terrorists wanting to conquer the world and s%$t. Normally it would not be our problem, but these guys have mutant-like powers, and Cyke thinks their actions would make us look bad." Wolverine starts.

"Like we're not making a great job on that ourselves." Warpath jokes.

"Right. Anyway, Hank and Jean came along to give us a hand, since they're both interested in these guys phisiology" Logan continues.

"Biogenetics, to be more precise." Hank McCoy corrects.

"Right, whatever makes you tick, Hank. Anyway, we're not sure what we're up against, so let's just scout the area, and keep close to each other. Vanisher, you're up."

"All of you?" a bored Vanisher asks.

"No. I don't want everyone to just pop up in the middle of our enemies bub, so take just a few of us. The others will have to catch up...unless you're afraid of getting a little wet. Elixir, Hank. Stay back."

Half the team disappears into the next room,taken by Vanisher.

"What happened here? A flood? This looks like the Avengers mansion" Warpath says, while swimming ahead, picking a floating couch.

"How would you know what Avengers mansion looked like?" Domino asks, swimming near him.

"I came here on a tour once." Warpath says.

I've just noticed now that Warpath doesn't have super-strength on the first click. I'm putting the HO he picked back to where it was, D17. Sorry about that.

X-Force Turn 3B

"Heads up, guys. They're hiding on the next room, we still don't know how many of them are. And this water is not helping. Vanisher, take me closer so I can have a better look." Wolverine commands.

"Oh my stars and garters!" Hank McCoy exclaims "One of them is an amphibian. He must be feeling right at home."

"Am-fee-what?" Vanisher asks.

"Proudstar, let's see how that knife of yours works with this kind of fish."

Reading Logan's mind, Jean knows exactly what to do. She lifts the young warrior from the water, and throws him forward.

"Yes. Let's." Warpath says, using the momentum from Jean's push to get closer to the amphibian enemy and stab him. First strike misses, but the comeback rips Mako's shoulder.

"Josh, are you ok?" X-23 asks as she sees his teammate face getting darker.

"I...I don't know. I feel strange..." Elixir replies, as he falls to his knees. His powers seem to be interacting with the dirty water, creating a wave that almost covers Warpath's body.

"Logan, there's something in the water affecting the kid. We need to complete the mission asap and get the hell out!" Domino shouts.

Slight problem with that turn I'm afraid. Barrier can only be placed in squares of clear terrain as per the PAC

"BARRIER:
Give this character a power action; put up to four blocking terrain markers on
the battlefield in any square of clear terrain that is not occupied by a character and is within this character’s range. Each blocking terrain marker must be put adjacent to another blocking terrain marker created by this character. If this character has a range of 0, it can put the markers only in adjacent squares. This character must have a clear line of fire to at least one of the blocking terrain markers. These blocking terrain markers remain until the beginning of your next turn or until this power is countered or lost."

And since Atlantis rising turns all the grounded clear terrain into Water then Elixir can't use his barrier at all in this game. Would you like to do something else with him instead?

Holy cow! Didn't thought about that. I was kind of counting with that to protect Warpath.

Ok, good thing this silly mistake was during Pre-season. I'd better pay more attention next time.

Here's the turn. Just removed the actions after the barrier one, including that.

Reading Logan's mind, Jean knows exactly what to do. She lifts the young warrior from the water, and throws him forward.

"Yes. Let's." Warpath says, using the momentum from Jean's push to get closer to the amphibian enemy and stab him. First strike misses, but the comeback rips Mako's shoulder.
