So someone told me you could Outsider your Own Darkseid to get rid of the negative effects to his Omega Effect (the half range for 1, half Damage for 2) Is this true????!!!!

You can use Outsiders on your own figures, yes.
However, it only stops modifiers coming from powers and team abilities. Omega Effects is a power, but the only modifier involved is the -2 damage when dealing penetrating damage. Halving is a replacement, which is not affected by Outsiders.

perplex is a much better counter agent than Outsiders.

That's debatable.

You'd need 2 characters with Perplex to do that job; sure Perplex can be had relatively cheaply (especially in the unrestricted environment), but that's still good chunk of point for characters that (if you are going for Perplex as cheap as you can get it) aren't going to really be doing anything else but Perplexing.

Meanwhile there are lots of Outsiders that are ~40 points that, in addition to providing a TA that would completely negate that penatly to damage, could also serve as decent secondary attackers or tie-up characters.

So, while the choice is dependent on what you are looking for out of your team, I would definitely not say that Perplex is a "much better counter".

well it also depends on what point value you are playing in also.
but being able to +5 dam to do that much damage to figures with fort/repluser or any of the nice colossal immune to normal PB/EW

So it works on the -2 for Damage as long as I Outsider him....wow. Even without the range thing, that is potent. I have just the team to use it with as well...mmmuhhhhaaahhaaa!!!!

Im thinking about using him on a 1000 point Gotham City Team (with just making my Gotham City Keyword, not as thematic, but they need range at that level). Nightwing would do the trick.

On the note above, yes it does depend on the points AND characters...I could Outsider it, but then he can't get damage Perplexed up, or attack or whatever...its a modifier...

I just want to make sure that you are aware that Darkseid, since he does not have the Gotham City keyword, would prevent that team from being a theme team (and would not get any of the theme bonuses) no matter how many actual Gotham City characters you have.

If that's cool, and you don't need the theme team bonuses, great! Otherwise, you should probably rethink your build.

I already have the 7 Gotham City Keyworded people necessary for the theme, Im using him as an addition cause it is in need of serious range..Im aware that he couldn't use any of the themes bonuses, but thanks for the thought...

Everyone on your team need to have the keyword otherwise you would lose all Theme team bonuses.

If you want range use hitman with gotham city detectives.

No, its not that Darkseid can't use any... it's that your whole team is not a theme team.

FF rules, page 20:

Themed teams are forces of HeroClix characters in which all characters (excluding bystander tokens) share at least one common keyword among the keywords listed on their character cards.

By including Darkseid on that team, it ceases to become a theme team.
