DEATH OF NAMOR: Remove a friendly character from the battlefield. All friendly characters with a point value less than that character's modify their damage by +1 while this ability appears.
Quote
DEMOGORGE THE GOD-EATER: At the beginning of each player's turn, the character with the highest point value on each other player's force is dealt 1 penetrating damage.
If the friendly character you chose to remove form the battlefield has the highest point value on your force, is the penetrating damage applied to him? He hasn't been defeated and is still affected by the game, Demogorge the God-Eater doesn't specify "on the battlefield" or anything similar.

THE RETURN OF NAMOR: On your turn, put the friendly character removed from the battlefield in Death of Namor in any unoccupied square fully healed; you can give the character an action as a free action.
Considering that this character was removed from the battlefield on turn 2, there's a strong chance it hasn't taken any damage yet (unless it is a valid target for Demogorge the God-Eater).
The character can take an action as a free action; it should also be able to follow up with a second action after this, correct?
the funest thing i did with this was i went second and was able to TK and L/C across the board and put a set token on one of their figures that i figured may be taken off the board or would be the hardest to deal with so i could yang them where ever i wanted.

I don't see this in the Player's Guide but... does Oracle on the In Contact With Oracle card take damage from the Earthquake BFC? Earthquake doesn't specify "on the battlefield" and she is similarly "remove[d] from the battlefield." Same goes for Lazarus Pit, I suppose.
Whatever the answer to the above is, I'd apply a logical step from that to get to your answer.
Whoops! Here's the answer from the Player's Guide:

So, it doesn't specifically address Event Dials (just BFCs), but I'd go with, "If your highest point character is removed from the battlefield, you would damage the highest point character left on the battlefield." Honestly, I feel the only reason the figure isn't "removed from the game" is that would mean it was effectively "defeated."

I don't see why it wouldn't, yes.
TRADES. eBay.
An Admin told me that I'm "too smart" for Another Realm. I hold that as a standing order.
I agree that the designers probably don't intend for the penetrating damage to be assigned to your "Death of Namor" character... but I also think that they don't intend Leap/Climb and Flurry to be incompatible.
So we have rules that would prevent a player from assigning damage to characters removed from the battlefield by feats or game effects possessed by characters. We don't have any such rule for event dials (or BFCs and special objects, for that matter - we may one day get a Phantom Zone Projector object). Unless somebody can find a clause that pseudosoldier and I missed?
My venue tends to play by the letter of the rules, so it's a good idea to get these details hammered out ahead of time.

MARK OF THE BRIDES: As a free action, a player can give a Mark of Set token to an opposing character that is adjacent to a friendly character. Each player can only do this twice per game.
There's no "once per turn" restriction to this free action, so if a single friendly character is adjacent to two opposing characters, you should be able to Mark of Set both of them.

SUMMON THE SEVEN BRIDES: Once per turn as a free action, you can move any character that has a Mark of Set token to any square on the map that is not blocking terrain.
If the event dial can target your "Death of Namor" character while he has been removed from the battlefield, then it follows that you could use Summon the Seven Brides to get him back early.
Even if you can't, you can use Summon the Seven Brides on your own Mark of Set characters - getting them into position to attack, for example. Nasty!
What if you do this to their highest point character? For any of the event dials clicks but particularly the Death of Namor part.
POSSESSION: Give Deadman a power action and make a close combat or a ranged combat attack (as if he has a range value of 4) against an opposing target character as a free action. A successful attack deals no damage. Instead, remove Deadman from the battlefield and put him on his character card; the target is possessed, becomes friendly to your force and opposing to its owner's force, and any of the target's canceled powers return.
After the resolution of any action given to the target, you can release the target. Remove all actions tokens from the target and place Deadman in any unoccupied square within 4 squares to which the target has a clear line of fire. The target becomes friendly to its owner's force and opposing to your force.
If the target is possessed at the end of your turn, roll a d6 and add 1 to the result for each 100 points (or fraction thereof) of the target's point value. If the result is 6 or more, the target is released. If the result is 5 or less, deal Deadman 1 unavoidable damage.
Each time the possessed target takes damage, deal Deadman 1 unavoidable damage after the action is resolved. Any effect that can counter the target's powers can counter Deadman's Possession. If Deadman is eliminated or Possession is countered or canceled, the target is immediately released. Deadman and possessed characters can't be targeted by Mind Control or Possession.
If the event dial can target your "Death of Namor" character while he has been removed from the battlefield, then it follows that you could use Summon the Seven Brides to get him back early.

The Special Power does not say it can effect characters "removed from the battlefield," so it cannot. (If you wish to argue that "any" allows it to bring back figures not on the battlefield, I would also point out that "any" could then also mean figures removed from the game. If you want the first step without the second, then make sure to Mark any Lazarus Pit figures on your opponent's team.)

As I said - there may be good reasons to play the event dial as unable to assign damage to your "Death of Namor" character, but right now the rules don't prohibit it.
SUMMON THE SEVEN BRIDES: Once per turn as a free action, you can move any character that has a Mark of Set token to any square on the map that is not blocking terrain.
Move means there has to be a valid path from the square the figure is in to the one its placed in (this differing from PLACE).
since it says Move, the limitations on summon the seven brides would include (logically)
-a need to roll break away if it is summoned out of enemy adjacency
- the need to stop if its movement passes adjacent to an opposing figure/crosses hindering terrain (unless it has a power to ignore such problems)
additionally, since its move not place, the Death of Namor figure couldn't be summoned back early by this effect (if someone tagged him in the irst round) since there isn't a legal path from where he is (off the board) to any square on the board.
Does this sound right to anyone else?
I realise its possibility not the intent, but ruleswise, these stipulations are all valid yes?
