Is it permissible to attack your allies with your attacks? For example, could a SHIELD agent shoot Wolfsbane to give her a click of damage, and then let Wolfsbane use her own actions with her new just-took-a-click-of-damage-now-I'm-ready-to-rock ability scores?
If you're not allowed to attack them directly, what about incidental damage, such as that caused by Energy Explosion or Pulse Wave?
Is there any way, other than pushing, that you can get your Hulks, Hawks, Doves, and Wolfsbanes past their weak alter egos and up to fighting trim... ? Preferably during the initial turn?
as far as i am aware u can not hurt your guys by attacking them but yes EE and PW will damage your own guys if they are in the correct place after attacking an enemy or whatever the case may be
i would assume that the "quickest way to pump your hulks (or whatever) up is to throw him out right away and hope he doesnt get too messed up
Surround the figs you want to take a click then use pulsewave to damage them.you can do this on the first turn to guys like the hulk and wolfsbane.Pulsewave doesnt target anyone so you can use it on your own figs.

I believe to use pulse wave you have to have at least one opponent to target with it. At least, that's what I was told by a local judge.
I think you got hosed then, all you do is draw lines to all figs, friendly or not and let loose. If you hit more than 1 fig,1 damage, only one fig and take the full damage.

Actually, you can Pulsewave at any time, provided there is more than one target. So, you could use Blizzard to jumpstart both Hulk and Wolfsbane, but not just one of them.

You can forceblast your own figures into the wall too (though I haven't double checked the FAQ). It's not as efficient as pulsewave though.
You could Forceblast your Hawk or Dove off of a building doing 2 damage(if you're playing the marvel outdoor map) so they land next to the other one, and have the other one give a click of healing to them (Which should put each of them on their first "Good" click).
I like the simple Avalanche Pulse Wave myself.
This is What I Want(ed, circa GSX/2010): Nextwave ATA: 100 pts. may use all Team Abilities as long as force is only Nextwave keyword.
Why would it become a targeted attack? It still goes in all directions, not just one,it only hits one.Every other attack has the word target in it except pulsewave and I dont think its a misprint or mistake.I think they worded it this way for a reason.Especially since it hits stealthed figs. Its an indiscriminate attack.

Nickel, the original text for Force Blast specifies opposing figures.
four_winds, if you look at Pulse Wave's PAC entry, you'll note that the last sentence, describing how Pulse Wave works against a single figure, does use the word target.
Also, Pulse Wave cannot hit figures with Stealth who are in or behind hindering terrain. As per the Pulse Wave description, terrain affects the LOFs normally, and so Stealth would still cause an LOF through hindering to act as blocked.
