Armor Wars Classic Battle Packs... take Golden Age figures, paint a new set symbol on them... you still have the outdated dials that can't compete with the newer dials from Secret Invasion and up...but because of the new set symbol, they are now magically Modern Age???
...Take the only thing that can make these old 'Golden' age figures competitive away from them... Feat Cards...
... Yeah, WizKids really thought this one through...
You have me 'Perplexed' with your "Brilliant Tactician" of a "Move Action" concerning your "Leadership" regarding this issue. Unless someone has a "Contingency Plan", there is no way those figures in the Armor Wars Classic Packs will get played in Modern Age Tourneys. I suppose the "Book of Destiny" has been closed on those figs.
So, we present you with the 2010 Golden Age Noob Award!
I'm sick and tired of all the mutha ##$%@$%@'ng feats on this mutha ##$%@$%@'ng MAP!

Still a good fig.
Likewise, was there any amount of cardboard that made Iron Monger playable?

There a few exceptions. I noticed you didn't say the Xplosion Iron Man or the Iron Monger "would disagree with me."
Or how about that über-powerhouse of a fig the Crimson Dynamo?
And that Nick Fury can't touch the new Nick Fury... but he's still a decent figure.

(Defense) L.M.D.: Nick Fury can use Mastermind. When Nick Fury is dealt damage, you can reduce the damage by 2. If you do, after the attack resolves immediately put Nick Fury in an unoccupied square in the corner of the map (or as close to the corner as possible) that does not share an edge with the starting area used by Nick Fury.
(Damage) Spymaster: Nick Fury can use Leadership, Outwit, and Perplex.

Retirement is lame. Though they aren't trying to make the venues follow it. So I still don't see what the big deal is. 99% of all the games played each year will still allow feats and the other fixins.
I think I hear a very very tiny violin playing "My Heart Cries For You".

I'm not whining...as I'll still run my games "Unrestricted" format as I always have...
... I'm just saying, as with most things... WizKids doesn't think things through all the time.
If they thought things through all the time, there never would have had BFCs and Feats in the first place, then they wouldn't have to do away with them as they are now.
Not for me, as I use them all the time, especially the three Xplosion Iron Men...
... but ask yourself honestly, with all rhetoric aside... when was the last time you actually seen someone in a tournament setting run with the Iron Monger, the Crimson Dynamo, or the Rookie Xplosion Iron Man?

It's an upsell opportunity:
"Yeah, kid, your little Iron Man is neat. Now, let me introduce you to HA Thor (or E2 Supes, etc...)"

Unless you didn't notice, Secret Invasion Nick is front-loaded with Outwit. Your Sinister Fury wouldn't even get a chance to use it.
And SI Fury is sitting in Stealth.
Sorry, the General ain't got nuthin' on the Colonel.
Last I checked Sinister Fury also had Stealth, that would make him safe from Outwit too. Just saying.
These "figure X is better than figure Y" contests are silly anyway. Samuel L Fury is a good piece for his points, as is SI Fury...
yes the new nick fury would destroy the ultimates one and his 37 points of allies with all his 2 damage. (sarcasm off) The new one is just too little (damage/range) for too many points

I love when people write replies as though they're arguing with something -- which just happens to be something that wasn't actually said in the first place.
I think I'm going to start doing that -- just pick a random thread and post stuff like "And I'm still pissed off at Reb Brown's portrayal of Captain America, damnit!"
You have used a censored word. Please remove this word. <-- Please kiss that word.

Whu???? No, dammit, Reb Brown = the roxxors!!!
