Hello all-
I apologize in advance if these questions have been run into the ground, but here we go:
We all know that in order to destroy a section of a wall, a figure needs to be able to inflict three clicks of damage. Can a figure with RCE blow through the wall if he's in an adjacent square (diagonal or whatever) to the wall (and use RCE as if he were adjacent to a flying figure)?
Secondly, does elevated outdoor blocking terrain prohibit you from making a ranged combat attack against a figure who's on the other side of that blocking terrain, but at the same elevation. That's a particularly convoluted way of asking about making a ranged attack across the chasm of the "u" shaped building on the Marvel outdoor map. If one figure (not at the edge of the building) is shooting across that gap at another figure (also not at the edge), do the blocking terrain lines affect that shot at all? (I encountered this at my first tournament, and basically the ruling was made that at same elevation, those building edges don't come into play as anything but... well... the edges of the building... ).
Are the different buildings considered to be at the same elevations? Can you shoot from one building top to the next?
And lastly, a critical hit with Mind Control would cause one click of knockback, correct?
Thanks again for slogging through this mess...

1. A wall is not an adjacent figure so doesn't prevent shooting it.
2. Elevated blocking terrain does indeed block LOF to a target behind it but your example is not elevated blocking terrain. Elevated blocking terrain is blocking terrain which is on top of elevated terrain i.e. those air vents and chimneys. The blocking terrain lines around the buildings are only blocking terrain to a grounded fig or shooting up to or down from elevated terrain. Figs on the roof can shoot across the U-shaped gap since the walls are actually below the figs and not in the way. This means a fig can shoot from one building to a fig on another building.
3. All elevated terrain in the game is technically the same elevation, even the vents and chimneys.
4.A crit hit with MC would cause knockback per the FAQ.

Whoops, you asked so many questions i forgot my reply . . . anyway,
ok, the way i see it, to destroy blocking terrain ya gotta be able to deal the 3 clicks (hence the roll for BCT over 3 for a BCT character to destroy a wall). so in this case, you've got to move your RCE character away from the wall so they're not adjacent to it. that's the only way they can destroy the wall (unless they can do 3 clicks without the RCE, which means, ignore what i said).
elevated outdoor blocking terrain will only block you LOF if you're character is at a lower elevation or the blocking terain you're referring to happens to be an exhaust fan or something (found on the tops of the buildings on the Marvel map). otherwise, you get to shoot the guy on the other side just fine. they don't need to be on the edge coz they're on the same level (as if they were both on the ground).
yes, the building are considered to be on the same elevation for purposes of LOF.
yes the critical hit will deal i knockback movement because knockback occurs when there is a doubles roll and damage dealt. since both situations are true, the result will take effect.

Per the range combat section of the rule book, as long as the character has a range value greater than 0 and is not adjacent to an opposing character he may make a range attack. A wall is neither opposing nor a character. It's not a threat to distract you unless you're like me and walls attack you while walking all the time.
