1. My heavily wounded Thor is adjacent to m Invisible Girl who is providing defense of 18. Do I have to turn off IG's power so my Medic won't have a tough time? (or does the "no other defense benefits" rule take place like Deflection and hindering terrain turn off automatically?)
2. If I did turn off IG's power so I can heal with the medic, can I turn it back on after the heal attempt?
3. Back to the outwit question... if I MC my opponent's Black Panther.... can I turn off outwit to cancel out his previous outwit on my character.... then turn it back on to use it against his team? (Or is outwit impossible to use during the MC phase?)
4. If I MC Daredevil and opt for turning off his Super Senses so I can whack at him for the next actions, can my opponent claim to turn it on right after the MC attempt since it shifts back to his team? Or can one only activate and deactivate a superpower on his own turn?
1. Support ignores modifiers to the attack, and so whatever you or your opponent would want, Thor can use only his own printed defense.
2. If a power is voluntarily turned off, it remains off until the end of the current turn and cannot be voluntarily turned back on. That is the rule for optional powers. In regards to Defend, however, part of the power is the specific that the adjacent figures may use the Defending figures defense value. So a figure can choose to use their own defense instead of that shared by Defend without the need to turn the power off.
3. A character's Outwit may be used once you have MCed that character, before you assign them the MC action. You may turn off the Outwit to bring back whatever power your opponent had Outwitted, but then you will not be able to use Outwit yourself. Or you may use Outwit and then give the figure his action---unless Outwit is negated somehow, it will last until the start of your next turn and does not negate your opponent's Outwit.
4. Super Senses was turned off and cannot be turned back on. It will come back on its own at the end of the turn, but not before.
So in conclusion, turning off a power will turn it off for the rest of the turn and reactivate on the next turn.
Outwit on the other hand, if used through MC'ing an opposing Fig with Outwit, will last for one round. (meaning my current turn then my opponent's next turn and only come back on my next turn)
