I have ran across a couple figures that have a flying base/stand, but their movement picture is not a wing like it should be (i.e., rookie Man-Bat and veteran Invisible Woman).
Do these characters have flying?
Even this sites database seems to not be sure. I ran a search for all characters with flying and a speed greater than 1, and Man-Bat came back but Invisible Woman did not.
Flying figs have a wing next to the movement number on the base. Aquatic have a fish and grounded have a foot. All flying figs have flight bases but to save on cost, several figs that had R versions that didn't fly used the same figure w/ flight base. These are: R Manbat, R Dove, R Rogue. They are included in the Erata but they aren't really mistakes, just attempts to save money. W CT, they made the figures w/ grounded w/out flight base ala Invisible Girl.
If you are ambitious and don't mind ruining the value of your Rookie Man-bat, Rogue, Dove, they are fairly easy to pop off and make grounded. You'll have to shave the inside of the base down though, to ensure they turn extremely smooth so that you don't snap the figured off when you try to turn them (They are fairly flimsily wounted when you do this).
You could probably put a bit of putty on the base and imbed Rogue's foot in it. When it dries you could then put the pressure on the putty to turn the dial instead of cranking her figure around. Manbat and Dove are easier since they use the newer base so you don't have to turn the fig.
