8 lucky (or unlucky, depending on how you look at it) contestants will get the chance to vie for Shecky, the Championship Belt, and the Olive Manta at the Embassy Suites during Whatever We Call It This Year Philly. Could you be one of them? Well, do you fit the initial criteria?

1. You must be of legal drinking age (21), and
2. You must not intend to drive following the competition.

If you answered 'yes' to both, you have passed the first test (the Breath of God). Now, can you construct the following three Modern Age teams?

1. 300-point mixed from any universe, with at least 3 figures, two of which have to be Indy (the Indy figures may be retired),
2. 300-point Marvel, with exactly 6 figures, and
3. 300-point DC team
[all teams can be rounded out with pogs, per Modern Age rules]

If that is within your abilities, you have passed the second test (the Word of God). Finally, can you handle the following drinking rules?


1) At the beginning of each round, everybody drinks one shot of liquor.

*** From this point on, all drinks refer to beer or mixed drinks ***

2) Drink when you use a Special Power.
3) Drink when you use Hypersonic Speed.
4) Drink when you use Regeneration.
5) Drink when you use Support.
6) Drink when you use Probability Control.
7) Drink when you use Perplex.
8) Drink when you use Outwit.
9) Drink when you use a wildcard TA.
10) Drink when you use the X-Men or Titans TA.
11) Drink when you use the Power Cosmic or Quintessence TA.
12) Drink when you use the Mystics, Crossgen, or Arachnos TA.
13) Drink when you use the CSA TA.
14) Drink when you are given 2 tokens.
15) Drink twice if your opponent catches you not drinking when you should.
16) If you roll a 12, you get to make a rule for your map.
17) If you roll a 2, everybody else at your map makes a rule.

NOTE: The judges can make you drink for reasons above and beyond this list (examples: You are a tool; They felt like it; You seem to be having too much fun at your opponent's expense).

If you can, you have passed the third test (the Path of God) and may consider yourself a candidate. How may you seal the deal, you ask? Just post your desire to play, along with a short statement explaining why you should be picked instead of some other shmoe.

As I said in the "regrets" thread, my only HeroClix regret over the past eight years is having never participated in a DHC. I'll have to get my act together for year nine . . .

I strongly endorse this annual event: it embodies the spirit in which HeroClix should be played. I suggest those who agree with this sentiment but cannot attend hold local games in the same spirit.
