Score: 30% -- Damaging special powers might fit with the Darkseid theme of whipping your own dogs, but it reality it means lots of Drill Sergeants collecting dust (on top of a pile of dusty Iron Men and Moon Knights).
This guy might have Charge and 3 damage, but I'm so annoyed by the special power, I just don't care.

Crisis Darkseid needs three of these guys blocking line-of-fire to him at all times. He can Omega Beams right through them with +3 damage and he can save his Perplex for his own attack to make absolutely sure he hits.

A double edged sword to be sure. They do work really well with someone with a nice attack value to bump up the damage, but really can hurt on a miss. they serve Darkseid well as blocking for him and to boost his damage...as stated below, shoot through them with him and perplex his accuracy for best results...just dont miss, or they are more trouble than they are worth.

It's worth noting that his version of Enhancement works with close combat attacks as well, and it stacks just like normal Enhancement does.
He's a flier with the Soldier keyword, so that also adds to his utility.
I don't know that Soldiers have a lot of options for taxi's, and despite his 6 speed while carrying, this guy does a decent job of adding mobility to your squad.
You'll need to make sure these attacks hit with PC, Perplex, or Contigency Plan, but even if they don't, Parademon Drill Sergeant has 6 clixs of consistent numbers if you can give him some defense support from the rest of the team.
This guy uniquely redefines his team's strategy based around pumping damage output at the expense of, well, lifespan. This is fantastic if you have a lot of little troops who want to make a big impact... not so much if you have only big attackers you can't risk hurting. The SP is always there in a pinch, but in fact he is quite capable on his own thanks to a U-shaped offense that springs back to life for one more hit. Flying Charge that can crack Invulnerability is no small thing, either. There aren't actually too many of those in his point range.

Anyone else notice that the special power as listed is WAY off? It should read:
:g-starburst:Darkseid's Motivational Techniques(non-optional) When a friendly adjacent character makes an attack, modify that character's damage by +1 for that attack. If the attack misses all targets, deal the attacking character 1 unavoidable damage.
It only has the last sentence above. Who do you talk to to get that changed?
Getting the first thing out of the way, he's not that great for the cost by himself. However, that SP opens loads of options. It's not enhancement, so it works with close combat attacks too, which people do forget when they face one. As far as the SP's accuracy, you know a minion is truly loyal when they'll "motivate" their master if he tells them to. Seen it. Darkseid was pleased with the Parademon Drill Sergeant's dedication to the job. Then he promoted him to tie-up the Hulk. What a day...
This guy with SM 56 Superman and Parademon Grunt x2 = 290 points. Supes attacks first, this guy charges next with 10 attack and 4 damage. The grunts charge thereafter with 11 attack and 4 damage.
Holy cow! I just realized that this guy has both enhancement AND the new standard power "Empower" via his motivational special. That's huge! As his point cost would've been effected differently had he been released in 2013.
His special is recommended for Advanced players....it is a gamble unless you use the right tentpole. In this case the only Darkseid with Quintessence is PERFECT for the drill sergeant parademon. Players have been looking for a way to push darkseid off of his soft first click of mastermind without passing up his impervious clicks. That's where drill sergeant here really shines! With three of them adjacent to darkseid, not only is he dishing out 8 penetrating damage from 11 squares away, but darkseid can also carry all three 10 spaces giving one of them an action immediately after! If and when darkseid finally misses he will conveniently land on his best clicks as so desired. WARNING: the bigger the damage output the more of a gamble it is to use these guys. If darkseid is dealing 8 damage and just happens to MISS an attack....he's taking 3 damage. 1 damage for each parademon. So make sure to have plenty of probs around to ensure you have more control over how much damage exactly darkseid takes.
