It's not every day you get to the "office" and find the Watchmen HeroClix Collector's Set staring back at you ... but today was such a day; and I invite you to join me in, what I believe, to the FIRST public unboxing of Watchmen HeroClix Collector's Set!
As for the stats; I'll be entering those into the system tonight ... so be patient. There's also an easter egg in one of the pictures ... see if you can find it!
The Unboxing tool of choice ... Kids, this is for professionals only, do not handle sharp objects unless you're supervised (or fancy yourself a 9-finger super-villian).
Despite how stupid this next step is ... I'm going to tell you that you'll thank me later.
I nearly ripped the box in half. First I thought the outer portion has a sleeve, so I was yanking on that until I realized that is wasn't budging. After looking for that singular crease, I finally cracked it open ... product still 'mint'.
Once the packaging was opened, the presentation is just beautiful. What you don't see here is that there is a plastic blister that covered both sides, and held the figures securely in the container.
If you've watched the movie, or better yet, read the TPB ... then you'll realize that the (top) left side are the 'golden age' characters ... and the rest are the 'someone's trying to kill the watchmen' / modern' characters (and villians). No pirates ... sorry.
The figures themselves are great; great scupts, great paintjob, and they seem to appear tightly secured to the based (I haven't done the clix test ... yet).
Here are some closer shots of the units; I'm sure you'll agree that they look great!
So there you have it; the unboxing of the Watchmen HeroClix Collector's Set! A sense of calm has come over me as I realize that WizKids may be back on track, and with NECA behind then, and a slew of licenses at their disposal, I hope that this will herald the second coming of WizKids. Good job!
So where can you get this? Justin Ziran was kind enough to provide answers to some questions that you may have:
