I never read his classics before but I just ended reading Green Lantern/ Green Arrow and is amazing.

I was already shocked for how great and simple his work is in that series. I'm sure it would had been so daring on those times in comics.

I was amazed by his work there and I say to myself to take a try on his work (with the fantastic Neal Adams partnership) in Batman.

I never see Batman writed so vulnerable and so great in the same time! THAT is a HUMAN Batman, a Batman who can cry, a Batman that is humble saying "I hope you both are correct" when somebody say he is great, a Batman that is not afraid to SMILE when he find a clue. a Batman not afraid to say his feelings and his way to be to a posible enemy. I just can begin to imagine how great the next Denny O'Neal Batman issues will be.

Denny O'Neil's Batman comics are awesome.

He gave us Ra's Al Ghul, and he de-TV-ified Batman after the Adam West years. He made Joker scary again, too.

Denny O'Neill wrote what is, to me, the greatest Batman story ever:

"There is No Hope in Crime Alley"

I still get teary-eyed when I read it.

Denny O'Neill is a good writer, period. His collaborations with Neal Adams are excellent (such as Green Lantern/Green Arrow's "Hard Travelling Heroes"), but Denny stands on his own pretty darned well.

Ignatz made a very good point about making the Joker scary again in the 1970's - see a story called "The Joker's 5 Way Revenge".
