I'm trying to come up with a story line for a League of Assassins campaign for my clix blog. Maybe something like a series of assassinations of key political figures that subtly alters the world's balance of power and allows Ra's al Ghul to take over or wipe out 80% of mankind.
That would require Batman to recruit allies to send to different parts of the world to foil various assassination plots. So the player using Batman would have to make up his teams in advance, with each scenario representing them trying to stop a different assassination attempt. And then a final scenario where Batman tracks Ra's back to his lair.
The player using the bad guys would get Ra's, Talia and as many LoA generics as he wants. Are their any other supervillains who might team up with Ra's? His teams need a little more variety, I think.
Maybe I'll borrow a plot element from the comics and have Ra's bust loose all of Batman's villains from Arkham as a distraction before carrying out his assassinations.
How about Ra's engaged in a war with another supervillain (say, Kobra and his army of fanatics) with Batman and his allies trying to stop them before the escalation of their vendetta destroys the world?
Just a thought.

That's actually a neat idea.
Or how about Lex Luthor trying to gain control of the League for his own nefarious purposes? Could be a three-way war going on.

That's actually a good idea as well, given that Talia ran Luthorcorp for a while. You could also have the League being controlled by Starro or Despero, with Batman and his allies turning to Ra's and his League of Assassins as the only ones who can help to stop the mind-controlled heroes. (Or substitute an invasion by the CSA for mind-controlled JLA, for that matter.)

I may have to make this a 15 or 20 scenario campaign if I put all these ideas in.
Going in another direction, what if Ra's gets a time machine and is sending assassins into the past to whack key people and change history so that he's in charge in the present? That way, characters like Sgt. Rock, the Blackhawks and Golden Age JSA into the mix.

That sounds like a very comic-y plot. You should go with that angle and, as you said, it gives you a reason to put some of those 'past' heroes into the fray.
Also, for the LoA, you can just go off the keyword and put guys like Bronze Tiger and Merlin on there for a scenario or two.
The Arkham jail break thing sounds like a lot of fun. Then again, I love using my Batman Enemies so I could be biased. If you do this one, you MUST put the Clown Prince onto the team...its the principal of it.
I like the time machine angle. I also like if Ra's scientists have enabled him to create an interdimensional portal that allows him to communicate with other realities. Brings Marvel into the mix with the ability to contact Doctor Doom and his minions to form an unholy alliance. Batman/FF team-up anyone?

I've got it.
Ra's has to go into the past and assassinate someone important. Let's say Winston Churchill in 1943, which gives us a good time frame for using Golden Age heroes.
But he also breaks a bunch of Batman villains out of Arkham and sends them to other time periods merely to wreck havoc. So Batman and his allies can't gang up on Ra's in 1943. He has to divide his forces and send heroes after the bad guys sent back to other time periods.
Maybe medieval Europe (the castle map) and ancient Japan (the Japanese Garden map). In Japan, the bad guys could have recruited ninjas to help them (using Hand Ninjas to represent these).

I very well may work this into it as well. Gives the bad guy more variety in his team choices.
