Custom acrylic hazard tiles... would you be interested in buying?
For those that saw me at GenCon, you may have noticed that I was playing with a set of custom hazard tiles. These tiles are made from acrylic, come in five colors, and are etched with a hazard symbol on them. For example...
rubble is dark grey with a ruined building on it
fire is orange with a flame on it
radiation is "neon green" with a radiation symbol on it
chemical is a light orange-ish with an element-like symbol on it
hellfont is purple with a pentagram on it
I received a lot of compliments on them, even from DC at Privateer Press. Because of the feedback I received, I contacted the company to see if I could get a bulk deal in order to spread the plastic goodness.
So, would anyone be interested in purchasing one or more sets of tiles? The number of tiles will likely be 8 rubble, 8 fire, 4 rad, 4 chem, & 4 hellfont per set at a cost of about $35 (includes shipping to the US and Canada... other countries would probably have to add about $5). Discounts would be given to multiple set orders as the shipping wouldn't be as much to include a second (or third or whatever) set.
If I sell them in the above configuration, I would have 25 sets to sell. Based on my games, the number seems about right to cover most games of MonPoc.
This would be a significant outlay of upfront cash on my part, so I'd need commitment from a number of folks for most of the sets.
What do you all think?

Attached some pics. Note that the etching doesn't stand out quite as much in person. It looks like they took some light colored crayon to it to make it stand out (I did the same with some custom HeroClix tokens from the same company).

They look really cool, but I think I have to pass. This has been an expensive month, and although the price is reasonable, I just can't afford it with all the cool stuff that is coming out in the next few weeks.
BTW, does anyone know if you can print out more the standard ones? I have two Chemical Spill buildings, and only one tile for them somehow.
I think there was a few files over at BoardGameGeek.com that had all the special tiles "Nuclear, Hellfont, chemical & Radiation". Each one printed out an entire page of each tile, like 12 or 15 tiles per page. There good high quality images also so they print nicely.

Oh you had me excited, I have seen those offered at one of the major online stores for some time now, also on eBay. they are nice but not what I am looking for. I have been looking to make my own tiles that actually look like they should. I have been having trouble finding a material that will work the way I want it to though. I have tried some of the "water making" products for moddeling, but have not found one that will harden as much as I want it to, may need to try an epoxy resin next. I want to be able to create an actual 3D city with 3D hazard tiles. Though i still have not come up with an idea for the Hellfont that I like.
Hey all... I just got these tiles in yesterday. If you're interested in a set, PM me. The will be $35 (shipping included) for the first set if you're within the US or Canada. Additional sets will be $30 each. If you're somewhere else, let me know and I'll quote you a price.
Each set contains...
8 rubble
8 fire
4 radiation
4 chemical
4 hellfont
I only have about 20 sets so let me know ASAP is you'd like one or more.
