Question for all you long time Thor fans out there. I'm playing the Destroyer for the first time today, and I noticed he's (it?) a flyer. Every comic I've ever read with him he was a ground-pounder. Has he ever flown in the comics? There's no errata on the figure, so I imagine he has, but I was just curious. Thanks.
I was trying to remember myself, and while I don't recall it flying, Wikipedia had this to say:
Quote
The armor also has the ability to project blasts of energy/heat/concussive force, emit a disintegration beam activated via its visor, manipulate electro-magnetism and molecules allowing him to turn solid stone to lava and achieve flight.
Also, if nothing else, the armor was given over as a fill-in herald for Galactus and all of Galactus' heralds needed to fly, seeing as how they had to scout out new planets for the Big G. to drain of all life energy.

Actually Terrax had to ride an asteroid, he didn't fly.
So he just took Galactus wherever the nearest asteroid was headed?
Or do you mean he flew using rocks to ride on, and you're just being really pedantic?
Well my alter ego is "PEDANTOR!!! master of minutia" and yes he used rocks to fly so it is a rather pedantic clarification but I thought that's what we as comic book nerds are meant to do.
No if you'll excuse me I need to straighten my pony tail and go sort my d20 collection
Terrax used the rock in the same way the Surfer uses his board.
I want these clixed: Doc Savage, Fu Manchu, Tarzan, The Shadow, The Green Hornet & Kato, Conan, Solomon Kane, The Phantom, King Kong, Universal Monsters, Black Orchid, Manhunter (Paul Kirk), Xemnu the Titan, unclixed Kirby Fourth World characters, and Lilith, Daughter Of Dracula.

Right, save that since Terrax did it with any piece of rock or plot of land he happened to have beneath him he's much more someone who can be said to fly than the Surfer would be. Indeed, it seems most likely that Terrax really can fly but is limited by some... affectation, since the power is plainly coming from him.

Just going from memory I think Terrax has a natural ability to control rock/earth, which is vastly enhanced by being a Herald. So it's like if Iceman was made a Herald, he'd be flying through space on an ice slide tethered to nothing.

He likely would, though it would be something of an abstraction rather than a magnification. It's a different sort of thing since Iceman's power is supposed to work by him condensing and freezing moisture in the air. Not the most well thought-out power, but Lee & Kirby made a good enough go of it. I wouldn't expect even a cosmically-powered Iceman to try to travel through space by trying to create an ice-bridge the way he does as a mutant. (Rep given.)
Heh. Right. It really comes across more as an affectation/theme for him, as the power's plainly there for him to levitate and propel whatever he pleases. I'd suppose that it's just a matter of what he believes something to be. (This reminds me of the subconsciously self-imposed restrictions characters had on their powers in the Wildcards novels.) Rep given, too -- as I've already done with Reddy.
