Hi there. It's that time of year again. Time for hay rides, pumpkins, apple cider and comfy sweaters. It's also time for Gargantua and my annual Halloween game.
This year we've decided to run a game of figures we rarely use (mostly) that are 'alternate' versions of characters. You'll see the Halloween appropriate Zombies here, some Skrulls, an Ultimate and Kingdom Come figure or two and some mind controlled figures among others. The title 'Masks' is really a reminder that the figures being played aren't what they seem. For whatever reason their mental or physical beings hide their true selves. Can we get any more Halloween than that?
We've added one element to the game. I'm calling it 'Lucky 13'. When a figure rolls a 1 and 3 they resolve the action. Once resolved they immediately convert to the closest form of their 'true' self. They may also take an action. The 'true' self must be on the same click as they are and the closest true self to their points. (Ex. CM's Professor Xavier at 78 points converts to IC Vet Prof X, in this case).
I think we should make the swap out happen when you rolls a 3 and a 1 instead, coz after all, Halloween is on the 31st.

1 and 3 OR 3 and 1, either combination gives us a change.
The problem with this map is that it's quite dark and hard to see. I can see potentially (as in more than usual) mistakes.
How about 2 objects each; two ho and 2 lo?

Leaves fall. Greens turn to yellow and orange. Pumpkins grow in an Eastern New York field. An arm reaches to pick one up. Holding it in a hand, the Iron Patriot stares at its curves.
"What's the matter, Osborn?" the Scarlet Witch taunts, "Feeling reminiscent?".
Iron Patriot punches through the face of the squash. "Pumpkins...are overrated."
Inertia runs to Green Lantern, then Valkyrie, then Ghost Rider carrying hot drinks.
"Kid! I asked for coffee...black...not apple cider!" Ghost Rider says.
"Sucks to be you," Inertia replies, indignant at his role.
He's' suddenly wrapped in hellfire. "What was that again? I must have heard you wrong?!".
"Black coffee---coming right up!" he replies and rushes to it.
They continue walking through the field. "Brrr....it's chilly!" says Valkyrie.
"It is not a natural chill you feel," says Loki, "You are walking on an ancient land of mystical power."
The Brood make of Professor Xavier's body reaches over Loki. "And what's the source of it?".
"I do not know. It reveals itself once a year," Loki says.
"When is that?" a mind-controlled Green Lantern asks.
All right. We'll stick with it. The things to remember are that the U-Shaped thing on the right is the only elevated. The right side is a building, so its walls are blocking terrain, except where you see the steps or where the conveyor belt enters. And the four biggest chunks of terrain at the top and bottom are blocking, not hindering. Only the green bordred squares are hindering.
I usually save my big point beasts for later, but as many as I have, I'll include a couple in my starting team. Close as we're starting this is going to get ugly real fast. (I think we're supposed to start on the long part of the map, but what the heck, why not?)
Yeah, I think one use per feat should be plenty. We don't have that many figures here.

Particularly starting so close, I'd say first turn immunity is in place. I can't hit any of your figures on my turn. You can't hit any figures that are still in my starting area. After turn 1, all bets are off.

"Da-da-da-da-daaah, I'm lovin' it!" the Joker sang the familiar jingle and danced.
"You're a lunatic," Dr. Doom told him.
"Well of course I am," the Joker said. "Established fact. But what's not to love? We've got a Zombie Captain America, a green Spider-Woman, Green Arrow with a starfish glued on his face, and you, you're some sort of goat-borg. I couldn't have come up with anything better, even if I had the power to warp reality to my will. Oh wait, I do! HAHAHAHA!" the Joker continued his little dance.
What a terrible starting line up you have. Terrible for me, I mean. Maybe I shouldn't have revealed my team first. I sure feel vulnerable.
Can inertia attack Spider-Woman? SC is 2.
Loki ups Inertia's av to 10.
Inertia to G11 trying to tag Spider-Chick. Needs 7, rolls 7. SS is 1. 2 to her, he ends in K11.

Why is it when you play Spider-Woman, she always gives me the worst time, and when I play Spider-Woman, boom! Right off the bat you hit her?
Okay so I could play this conservative or I could do a major rush and risk reprisal. But I'll take that chance.
Goblin Queen TKs Supergirl out to I9
Spider-Woman Outwits Inertia's Slow Down
Supregirl Charges to N11, grabbing the HO in M9 and trying to clobber GL with it. AV9 on DV17. Gets 4. Bad start.
Joker to F15, Outwits Inertia's SS.
Doom RS to D9, targets Inertia, AV11 on DV17. Gets 9. Good for 3 to him.
Oliver RS to E9, attacks Inertia, AV10 on DV16. He gets 9 and Intertia pays for his first strike on Spider-Woman by being the first to fall.
Colonel America to G18
It is a little hard to see on this map, but the building has doors only where there are stairs, so GA is blocking any LOF to Doom.
Doom, by the way, joins the JSA and shares his 17DV with GA.

"Snot nosed kid. Want me to crush him?" Supergirl asked.
"No, leave him to us," Dr. Doom said. "There are more dangerous targets. Green Lantern..." He was going to make other suggestions, but she was already off.
Green Lantern saw her coming a mile away. "Sorry, Supergirl, no can do," he shielded himself with his ring.
"Kneel, boy. Kneel before Doom."
"Never," Inertia said.
"Then fall before Doom. It makes no difference to me." Doom blasted Inertia. THe boy struggled to stand, but Green Arrow pur an arrow in him before he could recover.
