I'd give it an 8/10, boosting it a bit because I think it sets up nicely for the larger universe as a whole.
And you actually clue in on how Tony is smarter than he acts, given that he pushed the "drunken crazy" persona to force Pepper to take over as CEO and take it seriously, and likewise for Rhodey as War Machine while he was still dying.
Overall, I thought it was fun. But not as good as the first one.

Not as good as the first, which was an exceptional movie. Not exceptional as a comic book movie, exceptional as a movie in general.
I also liked Terrence Howard better as Rhodey, than Don Cheadle.
As solid 8 out of 10 ( I think I rated IM 1 as a 9 or 9.5). Good movie, and I like the way it set the Thor movie, and Avengers up. I bumped it up .5 of a point, due to Scarlett Johansson. I love her.
Glad to see this back DTM
Trade to Canada. We're friendly, and we love Beavers..........
Nice to see ya back DTM. I'm in agreement with everyone here. The first movie was truly amazing so it's disappointing this fell flat. Personally, I don't like Howard or Cheadle as Rhodey. Scarlett was beautiful but a terrible Black Widow and the final battle scene was lackluster.
I have a lot more issues with this film than with the first Iron Man movie.
Acting is top notch all around. Nothing too glaringly bad.
The action scenes were boring. During the big fight scene at the end, I didn't care about what was happening.
When RDJ wasn't in the suit and trying to figure out how to be useful to the world, the film was great. There was comedy, there was a sense that he wasn't the action movie hero who always speeds off towards a goal.
Otherwise, I hated how they made Vanko's father the bad guy who wanted to capitalize on the arc technology. Yeah right.
7.8 out of ten.
Eh . . .
I have no sekrets, I just am.

OK, overall I thought this was a fun, well done comic book movie, though like all of us here, I didnt think it was on the same level as the original, which I think is one of The Best comic book movies of all time! In saying that, Iron Man 2 here was still held my interest and was good enough I think for an 8 / 10, even though the scene with Fury talking to Stark seemed so Much like Samuel L Jackson talking to Stark to me.
Iron Man 2 - 8
Here's hoping The Mandarin actually makes his appearance in IM3!!

Interesrtingly enough, I actually liked this movie about as much as the first one. The two Iron Man movies were the best of any of the previous Marvel movies and to me, ranks at the very top behind The Dark Knight (Greatest Comic movie ever, IMHO) and 300.
Totally blew away the overrated Spider-Man movies. Especially the first and third ones.
Kills any of the X-Men movie-by a longshot (no pun intended).
These films made me like Iron Man, a character I was only moderately into.
8/10

I found everything about Iron Man 2 to be well executed. The introduction of the villain was solid, and did a great job of reminding the audience of what happened in the previous film that they needed to know. We get the ballance of action and humor we expect from the original film.
This was a disappointment to me, there just wasn't much to it other than a string of action sequences, which don't interest me at the best of times. After the pleasant surprise that was the first in the series this sequel left me cold.
What separated it from the average mindless explosion based film was its actors. The cast was excellent from top to bottom, but even still they didn't have that much to work with. Granted there were more than a few spots bright spots, I am not saying this was Transformers 2 or anything, there just wasn't enough.
It wasn't bad by any means but it certainly wasn't in the top 3/4 of movies I have seen in my life so I can't rate it any higher than a
I wanted more mutual screen time for Downey Jr. Rourke but that's because they are both so good in this movie. I thought Sam Rockwell was great for fully willing to let us hate him as Justin Hammer. This was actually a really good action movie with awesome characters.
