What's the deal with these two comic lines (amazing spider-man and spectacular spider-man)?
(1) why did marvel made another comic (spectacular) containing the same spider-man from amazing?
(2) and are they different stories all through out? even with separate universes?
(3) if they are not separate universes, then how will you,as a reader that's concerned with realism, jive the two books into one idea/ story?
Whoever is worthy to wield the hammer. . .

Seriously, man? This is actually at a very low point in sheer number of Spider-Man titles. It wasn't all that long ago that there was "Amazing Spider-Man", "Peter Parker: Spider-Man", "Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man", "Spider-Man's Tangled Web"...
They're the same continuity, different stories, it's better to not even think about how they all coincide, just like the umpteen billion Wolverine and Deadpool books. They exist, they tell stories of the same character, and they don't meld very well.

What he said.
but to add. Amazing Spider-Man is more in continuity than Spectacular Spider-Man. SSM is more of a behind the scenes and one shot type stories.
Werent there even more at one point? When I managed a store in the 90's there was: Amazing, Spectacular, Web of Spider-Man, plain old Spider-Man, and I think they were reprinting Marvel Team-Up. That meant if you bought all the Spider-Man tiles you got a new book every week. Hell and back then you bought multiples because you had to have all the different covers/holograms/bagged with a card inserts so you could cash them in and be rich. Know anyone who is rich because of anything they bought in the 90's?

At one time, there was Amazing, Adjective-less, Spectacular, Web Of, Marvel Tales (reprints of early "Amazing", then "Team-Up") and Unlimited (Bi-Monthly).

It's tradition.
In the 1970's/1980's there were just two Spider-Man books (rather than the metric buttload of titles in recent years, and not counting his regular appearances in Marvel 2-in-1, etc.), Spectacular and Amazing. This was done because Spidey was Marvel's "flagship" character; they felt he deserved a second regular book.*
* Never mind the fact that in the mid to late 1970's both Conan the Barbarian and Howard the Duck outsold Spidey by a fairly wide margin.

The 2000's is probably the calmest point for Spidey in his entire lifespan. For 40+ year he was Marvel's #1 character and had to represent them non stop, make a million cameos a month, and carry on several of his own titles (Although he had to be cloned to manage that eventually). Now Wolverine and Deadpool are taking a lot of his thunder.

Well, to be honest, that happened in the early 1990's as well. Wolvie, Punisher and Ghost Rider (Ketch) made appearances everywhere and anywhere on a monthly basis.
In the case of Punisher and GR, tho, they couldn't sustain their popularity. Wolvie is still going.
Yeah, Conan went to Dark Horse and Howard went to hell in a handbasket after Steve Gerber quit (but we did get to see Bev topless in the b&w mag, so it wasn't a total loss).

u could look at that marvel want to sell books, back in the 80's and 90's to read a story arc u had to buy ALL the books it was invovled in. (ie maxium carnage, fatal attractions, mutant massrce) most of these stories spans several titles related to those charater (ie the merry mutants and the 15 billion spiderman titles) its a marketin ploy that usually workes i hope marvel doesnt go back to that and keep story arcs in one book

Even so, most of Dark Horse's Conan books are reprints of the old Marvel books.
As for Howard, I never did see what was so great about the character.
