I will go with Viktor and Allison as well. I mean, they're no Gail & Dale, but I still prefer their version to the original.

I have to say very honestly, but happily, that this may the toughest choice of any that I've seen in Rock Wars, Same Name, or Covers. Especially since we've had so many great songs to come out of the recent Plant/Krauss collaborations, even though this cover was long before that project. I can get really lost in listening to Allison Krauss' singing, and the Viktor/Allison Krauss version is amazing. But the original is also such a great song, and the tone of the lead guitar for some reason reminds me very much of Robert Cray's playing. Doubt he was there, but whoever it was, really enjoy the guitar throughout. So for me, its a contest between an angelic voice and a guitar sound that I really love. Its practically a draw, so I'll go with Robert Plant's original, since its his song.

Well, this was a surprise, as I thought Id be voting for Plant (which was an OK song), but then listening to the Cover I was really surprised at my enjoyment of it. Going with Viktor & Alison Krauss here.

It's annoying as hell that I can't find the Viktor Krauss CD that this came from. It's just too good to not be in my collection.
Robert Plant is one of my favorite musicians. There's very little that he's done that doesn't sound gold to me. This is one of my favorite songs from his solo career. This is a very tough choice.

I vote Viktor & Alison Krauss.

I always find it a bit disconcerting when Alison Krauss isn't singing bluegrass, but what the heck, I still very much enjoyed her/their version.

It's from Viktor Krauss' CD from which his sister helped out with the vocals.

The album is "Far from enough" (had to link to Viktor's site since neither Wikipedia nor Discogs had a page about it - the info on the "Big Log" wikipedia page helped me to get to it, though).
