Should it count if you didn't burn it? Neither of us are doing anything after this game, I vote you can use it.

Correct, Ignatz used the cancel ability to knock out Atlantis Rising in the first game. Other option is to hope the EQ goes off during first turn while the Metal Men are in their starting area. That happened in my EQ game this season.
