I want these clixed: Doc Savage, Fu Manchu, Tarzan, The Shadow, The Green Hornet & Kato, Conan, Solomon Kane, The Phantom, King Kong, Universal Monsters, Black Orchid, Manhunter (Paul Kirk), Xemnu the Titan, unclixed Kirby Fourth World characters, and Lilith, Daughter Of Dracula.
Another example of how a man can embrace two versions of a song a whole lot easier -- and usually with much lighter consequences -- than he can love twin sisters.
That said...
Way out west, there was this fella...fella I wanna tell ya about. Fella by the name of John Townes Van Zandt. At least, that was the name his loving parents gave him.
That said, I'll raise this glass of sarsaparilla and cast a vote for...
The Cover -- Townes Van Zandt, please!
Where's the money, Lebowski?

Tim Burton was right: "A square jaw does not a Batman make." Steve Buscemi as the next Batman! Luke Perry as Joker! Let's make it happen!
This is a tough choice, but I think in the end I'll have to go with Townes Van Zandt as Mick Jagger was right when he said his voice was not suited for Country music.

As much as I keep claiming to be "not a Rolling Stones fan" I seem to keep preferring their versions of songs here. When I Was growing up, "country music" was a bad word. No one I knew would admit to liking it. I wouldn't admit to liking it. As I've matured, I've come to understand that you can't label a whole genre. There's a lot to like there, if you keep an open mind. Doesn't mean I like everything. Townes Van Zandt was still a little too "country" sounding for me to like that much. Rolling Stones were more honky-tonk. Which I did like.
In these originals vs covers competitions, there is only one band that would make me vote against a Stones original. I have no idea who that band is, but there's bound to be one out there somewhere. I just haven't found it yet.
TVZ isn't that act.
Not only do I believe that Jagger would put roses on her grave, I believe he'd do something entirely profane while he was there.
Rolling Stones
