Just wondering, why doesn't anyone do it? I mean I get the possible bad ends that could arise but that could happen with any trade right? Do people do it? I haven't ever seen it. Or is it just weird? hah just wondering.
I would probably do it if it were Boosters/Bricks from the right set.
Only problem is, if you open a brick and pull some good SR's, Chases, WL's..etc, the rest of the boosters would probably be worthless rares. Even if you think the person is trustworthy, you can never really know for sure.
Given the large number of people who have reported unsavory actions of actual stores selling boosters that have been split open and then resealed, sans anything good, I would be leary to trade or purchase anything that wasn't factory sealed. It's a big part of why my purchases come in the form of bricks and cases, rather than off the shelf. Loose boosters too often reflect the last half of the brick after somebody pulls the good stuff, especially if a venue opens boosters themselves for singles.
That said, the biggest use of trading sealed product (if it's not to cheat people) is all the duplicate bricks. I pulled 2 cloned bricks of Web. By pack number 4, I really wished I could have traded what else was left, rather than be stuck with 'em. Or to trade Brave & Bold bricks for bricks of, well, something that didn't suck.
PopularCollections takes your $ and delays shipping for months! They are called PC for a reason; everyone who rolls with them ends up wanting a re-do
I'm glad our venue owner is honest. I swear I saw her open a 'godpack' during HoT. First booster out of the case. She continued opening. What's an amazing example of Karma is during a certain venues grand opening there was a sealed event. The boosters were all loose and the venue only opened because someone reported him for not having a storefront. There was 10-15 of us and we pulled 2 SRs. This was during Avengers. So we figured there must be a rack of SRs in the remaining boosters. Nope we pulled maybe 2 more. Out of 30-40 booster at least. During HoT this same venue opened 13 cases and pulled 1 'godpack'. These 2 events both really hurt this business since it's now closed.

It's for this very reason I don't trade on the realms for boosters. I have traded at the venue for blind boosters because my venue owner is honest, but unless it's a sealed brick like Dknight does for his raffles, I pass. Way too easy to mess with the boosters.
As others have suggested, it's the fear of tampered boosters.
Second scenario:
In one of my 75th bricks, I pulled two White Lanterns and two Super Rares and still had two boosters to go. I could've easily traded one of them (or both) for, say, a Super Rare knowing the odds were almost nil that there was anything of real value inside. Alas, I can't muster the juice to be that kind of dick. But, hopefully you see what I mean.

ahh yes I see, but would anyone actually trade for a sealed brick? I mean thats pretty hard to screw with. Would anyone consider it?
I frequently trade some single figs in for boosters at my local shop.. I pulled an extra spider-hulk and traded it for 1 booster and pulled cosmic spidey.. and in the past i had a chase queen hippolyta and traded her for 3 boosters and the 1st pack i opened i pulled lampost bats the chase.
but i have had times where id trade something decent and not get anything good.. Just depends on the pull.. i know my store doesnt mess with the boosters. considering for our HOT release we had like 8 God packs pulled..
"sealed" is a very broad term. You can literally vacuum seal boosters together if it's the kind that come with no tape holding it closed.
Those bricks that come with the folded over plastic at the end.. man, you really don't know how easy it is to repackage them again.
I had a venue do that a lot. Left over boosters on the shelf would be just jumbled together into a carefully opened old brick plastic and taped back together.
That's why I buy sealed cases that still have wizkids tape. Call me paranoid but I've seen things you wouldn't believe...
There are 2 good ways to determine if your Venue is honest or not
1. Does the Venue sell Heroclix singles?
2. Does the Owner play or collect Heroclix?
If the answer to both of those is no, odds are, the packs that are sold are taken directly from the brick and placed on the shelf in an Honest fashion. Because if the Venue owner doesn't sell singles and/or has no interest in collecting/playing... he has no motivation to open boosters or tamper with anything.
Fortunately, ALL the venues in the Columbus, Ohio (that I'm aware of) area are honest, since people seem to pull White Lanterns and Super-rares almost every time boosters are bought.

oh my... well I guess its maybe a good thing my local shop closed and so I have to order from the internet. hah there needs to be a list of crooked shops somewhere on this site.
Zephyrpower is pretty much dead on. If the venue only cares about selling the product without dealing with singles or any interest in the singles market, then you could probably trust them.
