Y'know. I have tried. I really have. Over the years I have tried, and tried, and tried to "get" Bob Marley. But I just don't. The whole Bob Marley mystique and his music. I just have to be honest and say, "I don't get it." And, seriously, did he really, really think that confessing to killing the sheriff was going to do him one bit of good? That was mighty weed he had that day!

Johnny Cash, on the other hand, is THE MAN!!! Johnny & Joe, ftw!

I think this one comes down to what type of music you like more. Johnny Cash and Joe Strummer to win, though neither song is popping on my iPod anytime soon.

Once again Johnny takes a song that was a good song, but not great, and this time with the help of Joe Strummer turns it into something bigger and more meaningful through iconic voices.

In this case, I really like the Original by Bob Marley.

I like Strummer a lot but I'm going with Marley here.

songwriterz sums up my feelings towards Marley pretty well. I'd rep him if I could. I don't mind a little Reggae every now and then, but I can't listen to a whole lot of it. There were a couple of places in the cover where the song's attempts to jump styles turns out a little awkward-sounding, but overall, I think I prefer it. Johnny Cash and Joe Strummer - and with a name like that, you know he just had to go into music, don't you.

I'll go with the cover. I have mixed feelings about the Clash due to their attitude toward the bands of their era and how they supposedly hated them without ever even listening to them.
For the record I don't think London Calling is the greatest album ever released.

Sooner or later, we all face a match-up of songs or renditions that leaves us thinking that the choice depends on nothing more than the voter's mood.
