So I'm guessing like many of you, a majority of my heroclix collection lies in sorted bags (or cases or drawers or whatever) in a large box in my office that usually is either in the closet or under the table. The only pieces that are out are just a very small handful usually consisting of pieces I recently traded for or aquired in boosters or pieces that I'm customizing or going to use in customizing but havn't cut up yet. I really want to come up with some sort of display which will probably consist of a lot of small shelves, but it got me wondering what other people do for display options. Does anyone display thier heroclix aside from a few on your desk? Anyone come up with some good dioramas or anything to put them in?
I recently purchased two items for use in displaying my collection.
The first was a golf ball display case, which has about 15 shelves that can fit around 12 figures each. The main problem with this is that the shelves are not able to be moved at all, so I'm stuck only displaying small figures with no flight stand (i do get around this by finding creative ways to tilt or balance figures alongside their dial rather than on top of it. each shelf has a team or character theme, such as patriotic figures for the various captain america's and such, and iron man shelf for all the different armors, and a couple different villain shelves.
The other item was a display case from a retain store, with the front glass doors that can be slid open. I've got Foom and Galactus plus my thor's chariot, phoenix and sentinels in there. I'm very excited to be adding my giant sized pieces in a month.
I bought this stuff on craigslist. It was a long time of watching local adds for display cases pop up, but definitely worth the investment.
The golf ball display case and the store display case each cost me $50.
I love the diorama idea, i've been trying to build a 3d map and keep completed pieces in the display case.
I'm very interested to see what others do or plan on doing.

I have glass 2 cases from a store of some kind. They came with the house I bought (He was using them to display model planes.) For now most of the figures I have are in/on one case, but I'm psyching myself up to get the second case in as a colossal holder or maybe favorite teams etc.... I just have to get the lights on them to work!

I have all mine in my display cases (see my album) in my office grouped together by teams. Anytime I need a break, just turn around and imagine my next battle.
You can use a Shadow Box. It is designed to hold those little Rose Tea figures that old ladies collect. I have two of them (one for Spider-man figures and one for Flash/Green Lantern Figures) and they work great. The book shelf houses the rest of my "too big for boxes" figures.
I line my current fav's up on top of the door/window frames in my office. I also regularly rotate who gets displayed. Sometimes its X-factor, others its DC trinity Vs. Luthor/whoever. Except my F4 w/keeper VS. Doom and DBot army. that stays.
I long ago ran out of room to have any sort of display case/shelf, so much to my wife's chagrin, I utilized a hide-able display. Plus, only the folks who truly appreciate heroclix or nerdiness get to see it
Unfortunately I took these pics about 5 sets ago, so space is again at a premium. My long term solution turned out to be not so much. But if they don't fit in there, I start selling stuff off, becuase that is all they space I will give to clix, except for the colossals like Spectre, the Galacti, etc, who reside on a shelf in the basement. Just didn't have the overhead clearance for the shelf to slide under my space limitation if those were in the drawer.
Sorry to interrupt this thread. Why is there such a thing as a golf ball display case? This just seems weird.
Some people collect golfballs from places they visit. The next time you're at a museum gift shop, look for a golfball with a logo or picture on it. I would bet you would probably find one.

Like spoons. Who the hell collects spoons? My grandmother does. so they sell spoon display racks. I once found Hubcap hangers at a flea market. Not a homemade product either.

I guess. It's like spoons and pins, but more manly?
Man I forgot I started this thread way back when. Well here's my current display on one of the walls in my office in my basement. I got tired of spending time and money collecting a bunch of pieces only to have them sit in a box and never get looked at or used so I made up some shelves for them. I try to display at least one of each character and usually only the better sculpts. Of course I customize a bunch too so I've got lots of those up there as well. It works pretty well and I like it.
I just use some display cases to store my favorite teams. I have about 10 tackle boxes of other figures, and older versions of my team characters not on display.
I've found it very hard to find something that can fit the 2x4 team bases and the Phoenix Force resource in.
