I know that Fantasy Escape is starting up some casual play stuff in VA beach. This Saturday I know they're doing a pass the trash event, and I know that they're going to start doing organized play with the AvX event. The stuff for this month is posted on the events system, and you could talk to someone there about the OP events they're going to start doing. As far as a casual community goes for friendly games and such, there's a lot of players in Norfolk, which is where I live, and we get casual games going a lot of the time on weekends. Unfortunately with the seven cities, things are just so spread out that you kind of have to be willing to leave a single city area to find a good group sometimes. If you're willing to leave Virginia beach for events stuff as well, there's also Atlantis Comics in Oceanview, and I'm a big fan of Atomic Comics in Newport News. Hope this helps you find a group.

I don't know if you're still on this board but Atomic Comics in Newport News on Denbigh has a GREAT play group.
